Hi all,

I'm working on a downgrader for 2.01 (and hopefully higher) and have now come to a point where i need some beta tester's with 2.01 firmware.

I only have a 1.5...that i dont wish to upgrade.

Be warned, by trying this you could brick your PSP because it is an untested method and anything could go wrong. It would be wise to play it safe and wait for a confirmation that it actually works before risking your expensive PSP investment. If you cannot wait and want to test this, let us know of your results, otherwise, please be patient.

I highly doubt there will be anyone that is willing to "test" a downgrader, i mean it just so freakin risky. But there probably is a few people out there that are really dieing to downgrade.

Why don`t you upgrade to 2.01 and then test your downgrader? No one is stupid enough (altough the world is full of stupid people) to risk to brick they PSP.

well i might gonna buy a new psp soon and i think it is pre flashed with 2.01 then.. so...
but how does your downgrader work?
how are you able to change the index.dat? isnt it located on flash1 ?
if so please tell me what you have done and how you think it works.. and i MIGHT test it for you when i get my psp.

The downgrader uses the GTA savegame Hack...similar to tetris on 2.01...but it flashes the index.dat to 1.00 so you can downgrade.

and im not going to upgrade and try it on my only psp which is already 1.5 (not to mention it's an imported white psp).

the only people who test downgraders ussualy are people with extended warranty, so it would be best to ask people who have that.

how did you write to the index.dat ? you sure it isnt located on flash1 so you cant accses it, or is it located on flash0?

and so another thought i had... since it is a virgin psp wouldnt it might be possible to set the fw version to 0.9 and install 1.0fw?

there is no version 1.0 eboot

im only releasing the files to a few people that agree to test it on their 2.01 and let me know the results.

SXT had nothing to do with that downgrader.

By the way, the index.dat file is in flash0:/vsh/etc . If it's possible to access flash0 through the GTA loader, this method could work. That's a big "if", though.

well i was assuming sxt did since the only downgrader i've seen has the sxt name on it...along with mph's..but who cares.

Nytrix this wont work if ur using the same MPH way, GTA cannot access the flash like the tiff exploit can, the tiff exploit is allowed to access flash as you can set backgrounds and they reside in the flash, games have no flash access

im partner's with ***** and my friend train (a ***** member) gave the beta to someone and they said it worked...i dont know if the person who got it to "work" is reliable...but i'm just letting you know.

i have a 2.01 EU, with GTA:LCS, but no way i'm gonna try it. But maybe the ppl who made the exploit didnt notice a small important thingy? On other forums as well i see topics popping up about POSSiBLE 2.01 Downgraders.. maybe its POSSiBLE (i hope so).
