is it ok to upgrade to 2.6 i have 2.5 if a dwongrader or something that lets me do home hrew work on both thanx in advance smartass !!!!!!!!!!

uhh, yea!? im on 2.6 and i don't think the security between the both is so far apart that it'll affect a downgrader

acutally, it could make a big difference. beacuse the encryption on 2.01 and 2.50 is same (i think?) and 2.01 is already running tetris so im guessing 2.50 is not far away. sony, (being the ****thery are sometimes) changed the encryption on 2.60 to be on the safe side. so it might take a lot more time to crack 2.60 than 2.50.

BTW: you wont be able to downgrade with the GTA hack, but fanjita is working on a eboot loader for 2.50

They did not change the encryption from 2.50 to 2.60. They scrambled some of the syscalls. It'll take a little more time to crack 2.60 then the time it took to crack 2.50, but not nearly as long as you are thinking.

(Technically 2.60 is already cracked since the Cheat Device already works on 2.60.)
