Cool Graphics Artist Requested

We are working on a very promising PSP project and could use a talented graphic artist, preferably someone who has a little experience creating video game graphics. Some experience doing 3D work would be great too. Please, no high school students, I need serious graphic artists who have a decent amount of time to come up with some creative artwork. We need an artist that can do menus, background scenery, parallax background layers, and/or animated sprites. If you are an expert in one of these areas, please contact me.

Now that the graphical requirements are out of the way, here is what we have to offer the dedicated artist(s) in return. The game we are working on is a 2D side-scroller. It is a comedy with a great plot, and excellent design. We currently have a fully functional side scrolling 2D engine, and a working demo that is quite playable, complete with interactive sprites. The game engine is totally original and written in straight C for extra efficiency. We have sound support, animated sprite support, and great game play, all working in the Demo. We have an excellent plot and story ready to roll.

If you are interested in helping create graphics for what we think will be the best original homebrew game EVER, send me an email or contact me via AIM Instant Messenger. I will gladly provide you with any information you like concerning the game itself, and of course the demo!

Couldn't we "high shool" students at least try to help a bit by doing some "basic" graphics? I've been using Photoshop 7.0 for about 2 years now and I think I could be of some sort of use for you guys...

Hello,

I say no high school students because in my experience most younger artists are not farmiliar with the tools/skills needed to design game graphics, and most are not persistent enough to really provide useful work. I have had several ask if they could help out as of late, but they soon lost interst, and many I have not heard back from.

However, if you are the exception to the rule, by all means send me an AIM or an email and we will talk. I still need artist to do simple background object images, and more complicated stuff like annimated sprites.

Happy New Year to all, and hopefully we will soon be able to release a ground breaking hombrew for everyone in 2006!

You're much better off searching for artists on art-site forums, than you are here.
www.deviantart.com
www.customize.org
www.wetcanvas.com
plaza.bunka.go.jp/english/

etc etc.

I'm an artists but speaking from experience, asking for fellow artists assistance on a gaming forum, only digs up masses of filter addicts and people with very little graphical tallent, or of course those that feel using a program such as bryce, or silimar for oceans, stars, landscape, etc is considered "skillfull".
Most decent artists on these forums are more than likely already working on a project.

hmmm. personally i don't think that 2d and 3d mix well in a game, unless it is certain games.

if it small movements or timed right then maybe. like cannons that rotate, simple functions, but if it was a full 3d person, eh.

i was thinking of seeing if someone needed help on a game or so, i can do 2d and 3d all day and not really be tired.

if it isn't the time consumeing maps for 3d characters, i could do it. like textures and relatively non thinking.

people, textures comic stuff is all i have ever done. i miss being a comic book artist.

i just scan and build 3d models at times ow for a living with a company. well that and sit in my seat and come up with ideas.

if ya want some concepts i could do it, if ya have ideas planned out.

i might be better help with others since i pretty much keep coming to gaps in some things i am doing and need a break.

forgot i got to put my website up. now where to start.

sorry about the rant.
