Version 0.5.3 - changes since 0.5.2 :
- Art of fighting is now playable
- Fixed the broken save states which oculdn't be loaded in most games
- removed the annoying error messages behind the game screen when playing in zoom1 mode.
- Added a binary for firmware 1.0 in the binaries package.

this build doesnt work actually, ive tested it on alot of ms and psps. when the loading screen appears it jus stucks.
On which firmware do you have the problem ?
I have just reinstalled the binary from scratch on a 1.5 firmware, and it runs fine, without problem.
1.5, for sure. in fact the precedent version, the .2 works flawlessy. my 2 psps r natural 1.50, so not downgraded.
i wish to add that ive tried to reinstall it from scratch too. same issue.

1.5 is also my firmware, I would have had doubts with 1.0, but certainly 1.5.
I have reinstalled by copying directly the neocd and neocd% folders from the zip file to /psp/game, and it ran without problem for me (just add neocd.bin if you want to actually run games).
I can't do anything more (it's probably a silly problem then).
Ok I have understood the freeze problem : it's because you launch your game unzipped, and I launch all my games zipped (the loading is longer, but you save a lot of space and the playability is the same).
I am going to fix this ASAP.
Meanwhile you can just zip your game, and it will run fine.
0.5.3-fix available, it just fixes this freeze problem.

I hope this will be appreciated, anyway - i did a lil bug test of the 0.5.3fix version , and i found some bugs that can be corrected or not, depends if u want to release another version. anyway:
Art of fighting is playable, yes, but in the second stage the lifebars ****pit screws up, as well as the cutscenes dialogs and some others gfx's ( like when u have to select what bonus do u want to play) ive tested only one iso, maybe iz my iso that is corrupt. The problems shows only when playin the game with ryo, with robert instead the gfx of the ****pit is exchanged with "select player" and "time" words of the character selection screen. The words stucks on the screen for all the rest of the game. The cutscenes r gone with robert too. the music of the stages doesnt play.
With fighter history dynamite the game stucks if u press X on game start (or something like that) in main menu, while it doesnt if u press O. The rest of the game is working right, and also enjoyable at his max.
I also wish to suggest a save state method (not only me tbh, alot of neogeo lovers wish that also), thing alot requested to yoyo but never implemented. It will be good for the peeps like me wich plays psp in the work break.

Yeah I appreciate, but I noticed this bug today too.
But this bug is probably a hard one : if you save blindly your status when it happens (just loose a game, then press up when you guess that it asks if you want to save and validate). Once you restart the game with your savestate, the bug is gone !!!
So it means this is something which corrupts the memory while running.
A kind of headache to debug, especially on psp where you can't really debug memory efficiently !
There is also another bug of the same kind : if you run a few games without quiting the emu between each, you loose the sound effects at the 4th game or so. Very frustrating, I thought at first this bug would be easy to fix, but it keeps on escaping me. So it's probably some kind of memory corruption too, and not a bad initialisation as I thought at first.
So if there is another release, it will probably take more time !
For real savegames, they could be usefull to debug more efficiently, so I might try to add them.
Ok, I just fixed the bug with X in Karnov's Revenge... this one was really easy, but not related to the others !

SO can you savegame with this version?
You can use the savegames intended for neogeo, that is : when you finish your game the neogeo asks you if you want to save in your memory card. Just tell yes, and when it asks if you want to format say yes again.
Then when you start a new game it asks if you want to reload your saved state, and you restart where you left (except metal slug which brings you to a nice mission selector !).
For the driftout and sidekicks bugs, I was not aware of them, I'll have to check this (if you could give more details, it would help !).
