I wudnt say alot faster actually. Its defo drains quicker but not by any real margin. Id say you lose about 5-10 minutes per hour. Which is like 10 - 20% you would think it was 33% but it isnt lol.

To clarify, running the PSP at 333MHz is NOT overclocking. The PSP uses an underclocked 333MHz processor which normally runs at 222MHz. It is completely safe to run the PSP at 333, although it will drain the battery faster.

Word is already out that program authors are figuring out ways to make their programs and emulators run better at just 222mhz. This will save battery power and make noobs feel safer.

What about overheating?
Won't a cpu run cooler if it was underclocked?
Thats the only thing Im worried about...

Ive been running the SNES emulator with chrono trigger at 333mhz, 3 frame skip and 4:3 picture for about 3 hours in one go. The bottom left and bottom right at the back of my psp is warmer then usual but not enough to do damage. If your so conserned just play it in burst's 30mins here and 30 mins there

i have to admit im a bit worried as well, i ran an snes emu last night at 333 for about 20 mins then just got too worried..

in another thread someone mentioned that yes, newer games might run at 333, but only for short bursts when needed, and that the processor may not have been meant to run at 333 for long periods of time. but i guess with the amount of emu's the crowd here at psphacker.com plays, since no one has reported their psp has burned up yet, i shouldnt worry

wow, i never thought of that, that could actually be true, although the processing power of the psp is meant to be at 333mhz, it might not be meant to be at 333mhz the entire time, and hence, causing overheating. I could just be talking outta my as* but no one really knows for sure if it's meant to run at full processing power or not but u do make a good point B-pops, hopefully it's not true...
