Neocdpsp 0.6.2
The main difference for this version is the speed at which it loads its zipped games, it's so fast that it's probably faster than loading unzipped games if they are very big now !!!
The source is available, other emus can use the trick if they need it, but neocdpsp was probably the emu which needed this speed boost the most !
Get it there

Dear Zerlurker,
Please include a select lock function for the menu screen, and possibly also for the screenshot feature in one of your upcoming releases.
Having to tell my friends to stay away from the triggers gets some dirty looks, plus it just makes for more comfortable gaming :)
thank you SOOOO much for all your hard work on this extraordinary emulator, I'm loving the fact that someone is working on new releases like this one.
MAD props man

I don't understand what you mean by "select lock" !

Well it seems hard to disable the left trigger since it contains the main commands, such as quit (you should always use this quit command, until at least I understand why this stupid thing does not close its files when you quit differently...).
And thanks for this !thank you SOOOO much for all your hard work on this extraordinary emulator, I'm loving the fact that someone is working on new releases like this one.

no, what I meant was to make it so that when you want to use the triggers, one has to be holding down select in order for it to take effect.
also, I noticed that the music doesnt work if the file is zipped, and Samurai Showdown 4 has No sound at all... it was over 100 megs so I pulled all the music out of it and zipped that one only and got it down to like 25 that way (which is cool, but I thought you should know for future releases)
I was also wondering if there was a way to put the mp3 files into a subfolder inside the PSP/MUSIC directory. I'd like to be able to listen to some of the tracks without running fileassistant, since they're mp3's why not rock them?
and... that this Emulator LOVES to be launched with fileassistant, for some reason it makes it faster, by a noticable margin.
anyway I hope some of this is helpful, like I said before you're doing a FANTASTIC job, and please keep em coming!Last edited by illegal machine; 01-10-2006 at 01:34 AM.

thats how youre supposed to have the files set up
only the game data should be zipped, not the mp3s
heres an example of mine
ms0:/roms/neocd/gamexxx/gamexxx.zip
ms0:/roms/neocd/gamexxx/neocd.mp3/gamexxx.mp3
the mp3s go into a folder called neocd.mp3
as for playing them on the psp shell, looks like youll still need to use fileassistant.

Well I am developping it using fileassistant, because I find it very convinient to transfer quickly something and test it right away without caring about corrupted data or not. But I didn't include anything specific to it, so the speed improvement is just a coincidence !
Ok, I'll keep the idea about storing the mp3 in psp/music...
And see what I can do about this select thing !

I asked this in another thread but got no help so i'll try here..
I am currently using V2.0 firmware and have been using the neocd emu thru fanjita's 0.9 loader. It works great but after a little while it stops working.
I have read other similar posts and have found that deleting the config file for neocd makes it work again.
Can someone tell me a solution which will fix it once and for all or do i have to keep deleting this file?
Any help much apprciated

If you want to add it by yourself, you are most welcome to :)
There are lots of things coming for next version : clear sound effects in stereo (try puzzle bobble and you'll hear what I mean !), more fixes everywhere, and still a lot to do, so I might eventually add this, but not now !

Kickin ass man.
you know how when you hit the home key on fileassistant it doesnt go to that PSP screen that askes for confirmation, it asks itself and closes its own folders then closes down itself?
I dunno how hard that would be to implement on this emu, but it might cut down on the number of memcard reformattings that are gonna happen when someone closes the app wrong and gets a corrupted rom, or maybe set it to close its own folders first whenever the power gets activated somehow? I know to only close it through the menu, but this one is going to get more and more recognition soon
happened to me once and I had to format the card and spent the afternoon putting everything back on it... so
oh and I got the music back on with the zipped files, thanks for that tip.Last edited by illegal machine; 01-11-2006 at 04:10 PM.
