Default hide corrupt files theory

hopefully i posted this in the right thread and that its not something already been said. would it be possible with some software tweaks of the KXploit to run the 'folder%' file from the 'folder' file? that way all we would see is the folder with animations and so fourth. any comments?

Try searching. We already know how to hide the corrupt data.

Programs have even been written to do the job. Check the files section and search for 'Sei Tool.'

Yeah, this has been done.. Also, we need to have both folders in the GAME dir for the exploit to work. Some time last night I posted some kind of explanation about the corrupt data stuff here... You can take a look, or find it elsewhere in the forum, I'm sure.

no, i know that you can rename the folder with a million spaces and get it to disapear but im talking about a more secure way of doing it.

it is secure though. the corrupted files dont cause a security breach. this is just using the file extension length cap to ouyr advantage

i used that corrupt data hiding tool, and it totally f'd up my file names, none of the games would play, so i had to go and change every file name back to the original by hand.

point taken, thanks for the support. it would work better if the kxploit launches the 'file&' if it was in the regular folder along with with the eboot. and its alot less silly then renaming it, although it is a good temporary solution i just feel that developers are taking it the wrong way with it.

No there would be no way to run "folder%" from in "folder" whitout useing homebrew and you cant run homebrew whitout KXploit.

I tried Sei and did manually change the folder name. None of them works.

Sei method: PSP logo shows..after that ..just black screen..I have to reboot

Hand method: PSP logo shows...after that...game could not be run message pops up..

Does this even work?

What program/emulator? Copy and paste the exact foldernames you're using.

None of them works really..

I tried to copy the exact names from this guide...

Still didn't work...does the actual folder name has to match the program itself? No right? If so..why isn't this working...

I'm attaching a zip file. Unzip this, and copy to your PSP/GAME folder. This is the latest version of the NesterJ emulator, with some edited icon files and hidden corrupt icons. I know this works (I packaged it myself and use it currently), so if you're STILL having problems, i'd have to assume the error is somewhere between the PSP and the USB cable. :shifty:

There are also many "hidden icon" pre-made folders/files in this thread:

Pre-Made EBOOT Files

If the KXploit found a way to create a launcher? that would make things neater.

Works beautifully..

The trick was...apparently...to have your folder name shorter than 6 or 8.. I haven't gone further than 4...RIN,SNES,TEXT,PONG,CA LC...ect..
