i was toying around with my psp all night to get the emulator to run smoothly and i figured it out!to get the emulator to run smoothly set the psp clock to 266MHz and the screen size to 2x and the frameskip to either 9 or 10 and you should be all set!

I'm not a mod but I have been seeing a lot of posts like these and they should be deleted. There is a reason why you have settings, your actually supose to use them and its not like you have tons of options to choose from. And nothing is wrong with using 333mhz! Once people start doing 366mhz then that may be different. I have a pda that is supose to run at 400mhz at tops and I see people use the exact same pda to obtain an ACTUAL oc of around 450mhz(and even 500mhz suposedly) however its not MIPS, its an Xscale.

Wow, that didn't answer crap. Vsync is commonly used to avoid "tearing" in games, as a result of the framerate being higher than the screen can update. Basically, the screen is in the middle of updating to the next frame (or picture), and has to stop and start all over with the frame after that, because it took too long. This causes a tearing effect. That's what vsync is for, to avoid such a problem by limiting the framerate to what the screen can display. This is a GOOD thing for PC games, and if your PC game has it, leave it on. As for PSP emulators, vsync is more commonly used to make sure the game runs at the correct speed. Generally when you turn on frameskip, the game may end up running a bit faster than its supposed to. Vsync helps correct that. Again, it all depends on the author of the emulator, but that is generally how it works. |
