Question Porting? 'Swapping 'Platforms''??

Am i right in saying porting a game is making it compatible with a different platform or console?

Hi,
porting is taking the source code of a particular project and compiling it to be compatible with other system susch as the psp. For example. You could have a game that works on windows, linux and freebsd and you could get the source code and compile the source to be compatible with the psp or any other supported system.
