Arrow FW 2.0 question

Okay so I went to my local EB and bough t a used psp got home turned her on and BAM got myself a 2.0.. I was so excited... now heres the question..

I loaded nes emulator to test.. Fanjita's eboot tiff exploit worked like a charm.. now Should I try the downgrade? Would I benefit from it? I like to tinker around in C++ and am an avid guinea pig for betas... should I keep it 2.0 or upgrade to 2.6 ( just kidding, im not that dumb!) but what are the bene's for 1.5 as opposed to 2.0 or 1.7?

the only real advantage for the average gamer on a 1.50 is the ability to pirate games - but if your a coder than i would assume it would be much better to have a 1.50

well you dont need that file to run the emu so just try deleting it - .smc is the extension of a snes rom so maybe its just a bad rom?

FYI, you can zip up your .smc rom files and save some space. Works wonders if you only have the 32mb stick.

A 1.5 PSP is also able to load up wifi apps like PSP radio without the wifi loader, which still isn't that diffucult at all to operate. PMP also allows you to play full-res Divx/Xvid videos, so thaTt's definately a good thing to look forward to on 1.5. I suggest you try out 1.5 just for the hell of it, I used to have it before I upgraded to 2.0 and I liked it a lot. I've since downgraded once just to try PSPRadio, but since it's working on 2.0 now, I had no reason to stay on 1.5. Give it a try, I guess.

v2.0 should also be capable of doing that. It's just not able to emulate UMDs.

This just means that SNES9x is hard-coded to be installed at /psp/game/snes9x, and the loader detected that. You can usually ignore it, and if you look in the readme or the configuration link in the uber-sticky, you can see how to turn off that warning.

what? That's not true. First of all, if you dont mind loosing the web browser and the abiliy to have high definition backdrops, then downgrade. Sure you can run ISOs, why? cause homebrew can access kernel memory. I recall a good couple of homebrew apps not running on 2.0. If your a coder this is better for you, having access to USB,WiFi,Infrared without restriction. Plus, the method for loading apps is way cleaner. No need for 1000 files scatered all over the memory stick then havign to go trough another launcher to then launch your app either. Just drop in /psp/game/ and run from the main dash.

I've noticed the bad wave going around these forums associating 1.5 users to dirty dirty pirates. Try it for yourself Goat-Heard and decided from there. No harm from up/downgrading a couple times.
