As far as I am aware, there are two releases of quake. I have searched many times using many suggestion words, and to no avail I never get the information needed. So here are my questions.
1. One quake (the one Im using) runs off a pak0 file from a pc version, while the one made by pacman is a mobile version of quake? 2. The last I read pacmans didn't support sounds, is that fixed? 3. Where do I locate the files necessary for pacmans version of quake? I apologize for me being a dumbass...it comes from my mothers side. |

1) No. They are both ports. PacManFans' port is a port from the mobile version, while the other port (I forget the authors' name) is a direct port from the source code id software released.
2) No. He never managed to get sound support in (from what I understand - I was using the latest version) 3) Personally, stick with the port you are using. It is far better. 4) It's OK. And for the record, both ports MUST run off of at least the PAK0.pak file. Of course, that's where all of the Quake resources are found. If you own the retail version of Quake, you can use that as well (PAK0.pak and PAK1.pak). If using just PAK0.pak: this is only Episode 1 with all of the resources for that there PAK1.pak contains the other 3 episodes, as well as the appropriate resources it needs.
