Default Hmebrew. Is it me or are most a bit, well, rubbish?

I have a 2.00 Jap machine, I've got the latest Ebooter for it, Doom is working fine and is fantastic, however I've tried loads and loads of other homebrews and whilst some will work, most are just not really worth bothering with, IMO.

It's like a lot of the stuff was not done because the games work well on the PSP but simply because they could be made to work. Most seem to require far too many keystrokes to do things, which the PSP simply does not lend it self well too.

Is it just me or are others finding this?

Also what homebrews are people enjoying and are really working on the PSP at the moment?

I really wanted to try Vector infector but it will not work on my Japanese 2.0.But I think we have made a lot of progress over the past year. The people at PS2dev have worked hard to give us not only a dev kit, but ports of many popular APIs to which to create our games. Having the most intimate knowledge of coding for the PSP, I bet they can make some amazing games, but they're likely too busy exploring the hardware side of it, and possibly also have day jobs as professional coders.

You just need to keep your eye out. There are some fantastic homebrew software well worth keeping on your psp. Yet there is sadly also alot of crap out there.

This stuff is not an easy job but in due time more original great concepts will be here for people to play (like TrottleX, Iris, vector infector, ..) along with great ports (like doom, quake 1, eventualy quake 2, ...).
