Default Important news about games from IGN -READ

http://psp.ign.com/articles/629/629453p1.html

Midnight Club 3, Dead To Rights: Reckoning, and Coded Arms all require at least PSP v.1.5 to run. All three included the 1.5 updater software on the disc to quickly update your PSP and get it ready to run the new games (they do not include the newer version of the software, which is currently up to 1.52.)

That article reads very funny.....

As they say: The U.S. versions shipped with 1.5 so why is this even news to them. And why does the pic show an update all the way to 1.52

???????

Me confused.........

They just used it as an example of what it will look like when you need a forced upgrade to play a game. They copied the same picture Sony put on their update site.

they most likely thought of these force update thing before 1.51 and 1.52 were out so thats probaly why they dont go to 1.52.... or because they dont about the KXexploit for 1.5

I dont think they were in mass production, infact I bet that Coded Arms just went gold in the last few days.
My guess is that sony sees something that makes there PSP better here, if all we're going to do is play emulators then they'll take baby steps to stop us (or they will get sued) however if we had UMD dumps loading off of the MS then I'd wager a guess that this would be a 1.52 update.

Sony doesn't care as long as we dont pirate?
what do you think?

Yes, but do you think that they'd believe us? I don't think so. On their part, it would be stupid to wait until someone took advantage of the emulation to lock everything down. While I don't like that idea, it's just "good" business.

On the other hand, I've shown people my PSP and they've responded with "Oh. Yea, that's kinda cool I guess. I wouldn't buy one for $250 though." THEN I show them my custom backgrounds, running ripped movies, and running emulators and they go "Holy ****. I need one."

Sony's good at making people jump through hoops. Time to let us do our thing, and let the other companies sit and spin. Not us.

Haha, same with my friends. I have a feeling sony is doing this on purpose. I think they know the reason why we are buying their damn product is the whole homebrew part. It's common sense, you know?

Er...Sony doesn't make money off of people who buy a PSP to play homebrew..so no it's not common sense. Sony has the responsibility as the developer and marketer of the PSP to take a proactive stance against unlicensed development...so they'll obviously be including the newer firmware updates in the *next* batch of games that come out. Just wait until GTA comes out. That being said, I'm sure glad these games didn't come with 1.51 or 1.52...but then again the games are of no interest to me so it wouldn't make a difference. RPGs anyone...? Seriously...if I were a smallish company it would be more than obvious that a large profit margin waits for the first one out with a true rpg, even if it's a straight port of a less than stellar game.
