Dr. Butcher : Watch your tone! This is a friendly forum! If you don't get that, you should probably read the positive posting sticky!

 fine...
am looking forward to it but i dont think shell release the source code untill shes completly done
Good News: Heather's looking into my 2 GBC's on one PSP idea for multiplayer because I gave her a decent source code!
how's that supposed to work?
Check here: http://www.phpbb88.com/homersrin/vie...orum=homersrin
Also, I'm going to bump up my old Homer's RIN idea's thread so we can get the idea's flowing again :D
Is sound missing after menu still not fixed ?
Honostly, its her choice if she wants to release the source code or not. She worked hard applying her own knowledge to this, and if she doesn't want to release to the soure, its her choice.
She, she, her? What the hell...homer is a girl? Oh god...oh god...no...oh god...****...and homer is a lesbian?! Oh uh. *deletes homer's RIN* Il pass. ;)
.....not funny at all...
You fail at comedy.Zitat:
Zitat von TheMarioKarters
Fanjita said to not do that. :PC:Zitat:
Zitat von TheMarioKarters
no it's not she has modified open source software so yes she is meant to release the source code when she has finished her work with itZitat:
Zitat von Atomos
read the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE that with the Rin source code
Oh yeah, good point, I forgot she got it from the old RIN, my bad, good call Skunk.
No, the original RIN isn't released under the GNU license. So I'm not obligated to release the source, but I probably will.
so it's not it's released with a normal Copyright license so I take it you did get written permission of the copyright owner before you modified it and redistribute it then LOL anyway as rin is now open source I sure they won't mined :icon_smilZitat:
Zitat von homer
and to keep with the spirit of open source releasing the source code can only be a good thing :icon_smil
all 3 version of RIN ive found have GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE file in it, and a source, so homer is obliged to share the source
edit:
lol look at this

i was the 1337 replier to homers rin post, whos leet !? :Punk:
You have many other pc emulators in source code, why dont you port those ¿?Zitat:
Zitat von balthur
it's not about porting other emulators it's about having to supply the source code if you use someone else's code that's covered by a GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSEZitat:
Zitat von Stranno
as the original RIN is covered by Copyrights and not a GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE then Homer should of got written permission from the copyright owner before she modified and redistribute her version
if it was covered by a GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE then homer can modify and redistribute it with out the written permission of the original coder but has to supply the modified source code
this is some thing all coder's should do when using other peoples work
why do you lot want the source code anyway
is it to try and make a better gb/gbc emulator
there would be no point because heathers rin v3.2 is the best ever but when v3.3 is out heathers rin will be PERFECT :icon_smil
there is no way anyone would be able to make it better than heathers
<G> it's not about wanting the source code it's about keeping things within the LAW you need to find out what open source is before making silly comments like this <G>Zitat:
Zitat von latios
The GPL says something like this:Zitat:
Zitat von Skunk
"You must make the source code available for anyone who wants is"
That doesn't mean I have to upload it to my server or whatever, but if someone asks I have to give them it.
I want it :dry:Zitat:
Zitat von homer
Why are you all hounding her about this damn source code, who cares if shes not releasing it, go modify the original source code if you want it that bad. Just be happy shes doing this for us, i know i am. And homer in the next version will there be a fix to any of the cheat functions becuase on some particular games my cheat files will not load no matter what method i use to create it and load it. gl with 3.3
I'll give anyone who wants the source code when I release next version.
And btw, I just added ogg support :D
I want to see the source code so I can study it, because I am learning C Programming Currently.(Non-School Taught) Everyone else wants it probably because they either want to modify it to their own liking or help heather with the emulator. Also, I too have problem's with the cheat files, the only cheat files I could get to load were Mario Tennis, Dragon Quest 1/2, and Pokemon Blue. Rock On :Punk:Zitat:

For the music player? If so, are you ever going to look into wma playback?Zitat:
Zitat von homer
Homer, but if everyone wouldnt rls the source, you wouldnt have done your homers rin ;/
Yes, it's for the music player. I'm currently listening to Metallica - For whom the bell tolls :)Zitat:
Zitat von PSPunk
Wma support migth be added, I'll see what I can do ;)
Awesome! I think I'm going to sort out my PSP's media library today, like change the songs from MP3-WMA, and put them in folders so it is easier on me. Still, a music player will be awesome :DZitat:
Zitat von homer
I dont think you can learn C by looking at compiled work. I would think the best way is to start from the ground up learning character and what it does...Zitat:
Zitat von PSPunk
You've given us a lot, Homer. Thanks for all that you've done. Only thing I can possibly complain about is the minor issues in saving your config. It doesn't seem to load them up at first. Well, oh well! It's full-speed, highly compatable, and it allows us to relive the classic handheld days. I just wanted to say thanks. You've really made me proud to own a PSP.
any feedback on my post ? ;/
someone else that needs to learn about open source and what it is, all I was doing is pointing out some facts about using open source codesZitat:
Zitat von xqs_me
if she keeps her part of the deal and makes the source available then she can't get in to any trouble
if we take your attatued and the original coder gets the hump because someone has failed to follow the licence then there could be a nice big court battle and that's the last thing we all want,
it's for her own protection more then any thing, :icon_smil
If somone wants to learn how to program computers, where should they start?Zitat:
Zitat von Dr. Butcher
And hey, that's un-called for Mariokarters.
I'm not starting by studying the source code, I already set up my environment and have programmed some basic stuff like colored text floating around saying "PSP rocks"..
Yea you are off to a great start.Zitat:
Zitat von PSPunk
Downloading LUA games and changing around their images and calling it a new game really takes concentration and experience...
"The basic idea behind open source is very simple: When programmers can read, redistribute, and modify the source code for a piece of software, the software evolves. People improve it, people adapt it, people fix bugs. And this can happen at a speed that, if one is used to the slow pace of conventional software development, seems astonishing." [excerpt from the Open Source Initiative]
