RIN GBC Emu, with mods by me!

Heh, my comp is bugging, also my GTA case is starting to crack from ejecting to much lol...god, homebrew is making my psp a mess, just like my old 2.60's....Just have to get a new one and hope it's not 2.60 in like 2 weeks.

I've got a nifty little idea for a feature in one of the next releases. Playing gameboy games on my PSP is really nostalgic for me, and I noticed that in a lot of emulators, if you choose to keep the original resolution, there is a lot of unused black space around the screen, yet if you stretch it, sometimes it loses quality. Therefore, what if there was a sort of gameboy themed frame in place whenever you played games in their original (or even the x2 stretched, since there are still black bars on the left and right sides) format? By this I mean there would be an image of a gameboy in the background perfectly laced so that the rom's image would show up in the screen. For gameboy games, there would be an original gameboy in the background, and for gbc games, you could have a gbc (preferrably the cyan colored one in my opinion, but I know the atomic purple ones were popular as well).

My topics are usually more articulate and have more depth than this, so excuse me if my suggestion sounds rediculous, but here are some quick proof-of-concepts:

Yeah, could you explain this homer? I thought, A GBC emulator, sweet! Wario Land 2 and Oracle of Ages/Seasons! But everytime I hit L and try to get to the rom select screen, the sound stops working. I'm using rin v.3.1 on a 1.5 psp. Thanks.


EDIT: Ok, all of the sudden it's working ok now. FYI, for those having this problem, name it RIN and RIN% (no RIN 1 and RIN1%) and I made a custom eboot for RIN%, here os the sustom eboot I made, just in case it makes a difference. http://rapidshare.de/files/14135056/EBOOT.PBP.html

Yea that idea would be good. The old Game Gear emulator has that, but it has no screen size adjustments so you're stuck with it really small.

I can't seem to get any of my settings to save when using 3.2. It always seems to go back to the default when i start the emu back up.

Thanks a lot, I thought it would be cool too. I noticed that for some reason, having the blue frame in DGEN was really cool to me, even though I usually like playing in fullscreen, therefore I realized: I like playing my GB emulator in its original dimensions, but the screen is really small and I look rediculous playing such a small game on such a large screen, therefore, of course, put the actual image of the gameboy itself in there! Hell, we could photoshop ourselves an atomic purple gameboy color with the words Homer's Rin around the corner's of the screen!

Hey, great work Homer! I was wondering, in the GBC Emulator, is there a way to save the settings as defaults? I keep finding it resets the buttons after each ROM.

Never used KXploit eh? Either google KXPLoit or give me a min., I'll use rapid share to give you the 1.5 version of v3.2 RIN.

Homer, could you please work on making sound emulation quit working after going to the config menu. Anytime I get far in a game, save and quit, then play it later, I can start over again or press L, get my last save state and lose sound. IT's annoying. I hate wario land 2 w/o sound. I have a 1.5 psp BTW.

The controls are annoying too. It always resets X to be the A button and O to be the B button after you shut down the RIN.
