to me all that he is done is make a mpeg-4 video on a web page.although i may be totally wrong now if he had sound then thats a different story, but you can stream mpeg-4 video with pvnc but no sounds and a bit more laggy.

i think that all he is doing is converting the mp4 into a .gif image i had an idea like that before never followed up on it though. And probably the reason that there is no sound, is because it takes up to much memory, Sound+Video=To much.

Nice

Any idea where to find it ?
(Not the video, but the working trick )

I searched google to no go

PS: @pspburner: I don't think it's gif.

By the way, I'm sure it must be possible to emulate the "location free" hardware device on a pc.
And then use the "location free player" on the psp ...
(I have tried it myself to no go so far ...)

Streaming video would be a must !

streaming video will probably most likely never happen along with flash, not just because of homebrew, but because of the psp's memory, correct me if im wrong but the psp only has 32mb of Memory and if you look at the size of java its over 500 megs. So the only way it would happen is if sony had a recall to all the psp to replace it with more memory and on top of that it would cost WAYYYY to much money so they would have to charge people to change the memory then more people would rant/***** and then more people, not only us "homebrewers", would be mad.

Well the PSP version would probably be a lite version. And as for flash,i would love to play Simgirl on the psp.

What i personally think sony will do is they will put an SWF player in, then when you go to a page with a flash movie, it will ask you if you want to play it in SWF player, then it wouldn't create memory problems in the browser.

Now back to the topic, I've seen this guy before, he claims he downloaded the netfront SDK and found glitches and somehow "altered" the firmware to allow streaming video. I'm sure all this guy did was use a GIF file. I've tried GIF files like that with that EXACT same outcome.

maybe, his webcam stores the frames as images then it send it out to a specific server. the webpage that he is viewing to do this gets the frame images and refreshes with the new frame image every second or so.

This is just how i think he might of done it. It could be completely diffrent.

Wrong. On my PC, j2re1.4.1_03, jdk1.5.0_01, and jre1.5.0_01 - that's two runtime environments, and a development kit - only take up 220MB.

Also, I quite thoroughly debunked this myth a while ago. Check here, and read the whole thread. I say exactly why what he claims is impossible, and I show you what he did.
