Are you kidding me it's # 1 because of XBL and the best game for XBL is Halo 2.And if you know anything about XBL you would know you can't go online with your chip enabled. you can use mods on live (i did)but you can't pirate the game to play live.Originally Posted by Merovingian

Well it seems to be a small flaw in the way Lumines was coded, but I have never tried hacking that game so I still say that there are other major problems to be addressed before the flood of games come.Originally Posted by ruffnutts
I tell you what.. If there are more than say 5 games playable on the MS in less than a week.. I will say you are right with your "speculation" and I was wrong.

Can this piece of software work with any firmware, or is it fimware specific?
Im sorry if this was mentioned before in this topic, but it's 30 pages long.
well anything above 1.5 and your stuffed so no not realy
Damn, I just preordered a copy of coded arms. But I really want the PSP to have a place in the handheld market, so I'll probably update my firmware and keep buying the games, but I really don't have the money
all the flashy lights would probably be better with sound but i guess ill never know
I know i cant put the links here but at a certain place a found (accidently) a wipeout pure ISO a Dark Stalkers chronincles ISO and a Lumines ISO with sound!!!!
I was very tempted but i am not going to download these... And they r like 130MB!!!!
92% of the teenage population listens to rap music. If you're part of the 8% that listens to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.
Did you all know that lumines can fit on a 32meg stick?
and for v1.0 users can use the wab launcher instead
sorry was that abit to much info?
BTW im not allowed to post how
Although the ISO comes with sound, unfortunately the sound won't work on the PSP when booted.Originally Posted by fraseyboy
yes it's true lumines can actually fir on a 32mb memory stick!
This is taken from http://www.psp-scene.org/
How to make Lumines Run Off 32MB Duo?
In the PSP_GAME\USRDIR\sound folder
-delete ALL FILES EXEPT music_menu.dat, music_skinsel.dat, music_skintitle.dat, music_skintitle.dat
In the PSP_GAME\USRDIR\lang folder
-delete JAP folder
enjoy the game now on a 32mb folder!
After reading 20-ish pages, a few things:
Theres not any sound due to the fact they ripped it out of the game. This is keep the overall filesize small. (Fitting on a 32mb stick vs a 160mb+ release. IIRC) Secondly, well its not much but I don't know why people are so eager to pirate games. As a CmP Engineering /Comp Sci. Major, I know the commitment that goes into programming, its not always about profits, its about respect for the people that spent a great deal of time making a product. Just my $.02.
You will know if you legally purchase a copy.Originally Posted by MrDank
I'm using the full ISO and I'm still not getting sound. The only way this could really run rampant would be if someone creates a file to patch every and any BOOT.BIN, reassigning dis0 to fatms0 in all the right places. For now I think we will just see pre-made BOOT.BIN files for a few games every week or so. Still, its progress.
I dont...Originally Posted by wholy
The problem is the prx files, and Lumines didn't require any that didn't already reside in the flash. IMHO Lumines is a fluke. Granted there maybe other game like this, but none of the one I and others looked at are.
I keep telling people, but they dont wanna hear it
It is :)Originally Posted by wholy

Same here... I actually used UMP DUMPER to dump the Lumines game to my memory stick (it's like 196MB, 200MB on disk) and there's no sound. Does anyone have any details as to why a UMD disc has to be in the drive? I was wondering if it was something along the lines of using a routine on the UMD to unencrypt the files... or possibly something as simple as the psp checking to make sure there was a disc in the drive. Anyone have any details? I'll search around ps2dev.org later (I'm at work now), just wonderin'.Originally Posted by wholy
That's quite a dream. It's not as easy as just patching files. It's not a matter of just patching disc0 to fatms0... it's a matter of loading the correct files -- it's much more. If we had a grasp on what needs to be done, we would have sound already -- but guess what, we cannot load the modules.Originally Posted by wholy
In the short. Lumnies was easy, no PRX files are loaded.
Other games, PRX files are loaded -- we are in a whole new game.
We cannot hex our way to everything.
This is definitely a work in progress.
Only a guess but may be it works like PS1 disc swap. As in theres a bit of info right at the start of the disc to say the disc is ok to play? Just ( wrong ) guess? and then the MS does the rest.Originally Posted by auto_exec
It has to do with the constant UMD checks -- the game making sure you have a umd in the drive.Originally Posted by auto_exec
Have you ever popped out a game, while in play? Yeah, it's kinda like that.
