Official eLoader Background Thread

That's the thread I started to avoid having 2 threads. I didn't make a big deal out of it because PSPCulture started this thread after Menu Loader Images had almost 50 pages of responses, so I think he just likes having a thread to show his work in as opposed to mixing them with someone elses stuff. No biggie, but that's what stinky was talking about. You'd probably get more attention if you posted in the official thread since it was linked from the main page, though.

There are a number of issues here, the first being that I started this thread quite a while ago before I realised there was another thread with a similar theme. Entirely my fault, I should have searched before posting.

Secondly, this thread has hit 30+ pages, so it seems its not that unpopular with the users of this forum.

Thirdly, and no offence to anyone on here, but sticking **official** on a thread title doesn't make it official, and unless a moderator tells me that using a thread I started to promote my backgrounds is against some rule, I will probably continue to use this thread as I see fit.

Next time, I'll stick **official** in the title and then no one can complain :Argh:

You can direct the anger at me, PSPCulture. I made the "official" thread in hopes that we could all come back together and have a common place to talk about the backgrounds as the index is a common place to find them. I understand that this thread has become established, and I understand that the fact that I stuck "official" in the title is relativly meaningless, but the point remains that there is no need for 2 threads to accomplish a common goal.

According to what I've seen, and your last post, the goals of the 2 threads are different. This one, as you stated, is for you to show your works. I have no qualms, and I'm not going to tell you that you're a spawn of satan for wanting it to remain active. The "official" one's goal, however, is to have a ready answer to commonly asked questions, to allow artists (including yourself, should you choose to participate) a common and easily located location to post works, and to pull together the older (and more established) thread with the people who came to this one. In short, it's to help the eLoader Background community stay focused and together.

Yes, I had no authority to call it the "official" thread save for my involvement in bringing the works of this community together, but I felt it would help people find what they were looking for faster. It did recieve a little support from qj.net after being linked to from the main page, though

No anger mate, and I fully appreciate your intentions. I kept this thread bubbling along because its where I started posting my backgrounds and have continued to do so since.

At the end of the day, it matters little to me if there are 3 threads with backgrounds or thirty, as long as people are enjoying and downloading the backgrounds and continue to like what they see.....

If one of the threads was made sticky, or if all three threads were merged it would provide a focal point for everyones hardwork. Maybe a decision for the mods? I'm certainly happy to have one single thread with all the backgrounds consolidated together.

Who cares what thread is official or not, there is just way to much digression on this thread. There are about 3 or 4 of these threads, and you can't say "one" is the official one, because all 4 of them are still popular threads. If a mod saw a problem, they would have locked it a long time ago. Now, lets get back onto the topic of Backgrounds.
