I think so, but the thing is, I can't change their extension. The file itself is called like AUDIOCODED.PRX, but it still is a DCR-file, don't I need to change this to? That's what I understand from the readme...

I see it when I load it into UMDGEN, that it is called blabla.prx.dcr, but in windows i only see blabla.prx , and in grey underneath the name DCR-file.
Thousands of views doesnt translate to THOUSANDS of people.Zitat:
4 to 5 people out of the thousands (and I mean that literally) who have viewed this thread?
I was a little confused about that and the "download PSP games" ads on the front page. Granted the Download PSP-Games is probably just homebrow and 1st/2nd gen game roms - but it still appeals to the person looking for free games.Zitat:
While not illegal, that is certainly just as unethical, and it really lowers my opinion of the site when I see contradictions like this take place.
NOW I'm confused. If its not illegal or unethical - then whats the problem? The only thing I can think of is you trying to not get on the bad side of - someone I guess.Zitat:
We don't view this program as "illegal" or inethical. It's just that its procedure clashes with already established policy here at PSPU. If we allowed this, we'd have to allow UMDEmulator and Fastloader. That's the crux that we're in, I'm sure you can understand the difficulty of the situation.
This is what frustrates me about the internet community. This statement is false. It is NOT illegal to make a backup copy of ANY media you own. What IS illegal is bypassing copyright protection put in place by companies to do so. If the ISO image that is made is done so without bypassing copyright protection - then its all good in the hood.Zitat:
It is against US law (the DMCA) to play a backup unless the original, legally owned copy has been lost or damaged.
open up an explorer bar (ie my documents or my computer)Zitat:
Zitat von Hondengans
then go to tools >>>folder options
select the view tab at the top.
untick the box which says hide extensions for known file types.
then you will be able to rename the files with ease.
Thx, that was what I was looking for :)
I got it running now :)
Sweet 1.5 :)
Thx
Actually, it does. At any given moment this week, there were 300-400 people browsing this forum.Zitat:

As has been mentioned many times, those are Google ads and we have no control over what content gets displayed.Zitat:

The problem is that we don't support piracy here. If we support the MPH Game Loader we're also supporting UMDEmulator, since it is required.Zitat:

No, it's not. The rule for "backups" only applies to computer programs. Plus, this GTA loader business requires you bypass protection and patch the ISO. So you've kinda made my point for me. ;)Zitat:

Also, see that part about the "license agreement"? That's the EULA which is found in your instruction manual. If it says you are not to make a backup copy for any purposes, than your rights to make a backup no longer exist. This IS the case with GTA and many other PSP games.
Additionally, it is okay to USE a backup ONLY if the original is lost or damaged. This clearly is being violated by using the MPH Game Loader - unless all of you have coincidentally broken your GTA UMD. :)
Finally - yes, we should allow discussion of how to create backup copies responsibly. However, THIS is not the proper time to change the rule because by doing so we're sending the wrong message on WHY a backup should be made and HOW it should be used.
In Windows explorerZitat:
Zitat von Hondengans
Click Tools-->Folder Options
Click on the View tab
Uncheck the option which says 'Hide extensions for known file types'
I had this problem too, my DCR files were associated with photoshop, so they were hidden.
Hope this helps.

MY CAT ATE PART OF MINE (NO LIE) :PC:
I have followed the tutorial for gta on 1.5. But when I want to decrypt the PRX files i have the problem that I don't get any converted files. I putted the whole PRX2_0_0 folder in de crypted folder. then i convert them with DecryptPRX 1.0.2, then I see my PSP converting the files (I see the files on the screen with an "OK" behind it) but then when i connect my PSP back to my computer I only see the PRX files i putted in. anyone who knows what I'm doing wrong?

Try putting the prx files themselves into the decrypted folder rather than the folder, that should solve your problem.Zitat:
Zitat von hansjeb
has anyone tried this with a different game like prince of persia or socom?
Socom works, but you have to use a downloaded savegame, and you can't play online yet. Also, Megaman works 100%, and I don't know about Prince of Persia.
prince of persia is a big game too. i thought it worked already. it's like over 1gb to rip. and even if you strip it down to no sound, you still have something worth 500mb.
i own the umds for those games do you HAVE to use isos? and i could care less about online play
At the moment you have to use ISOs for those games. But hopefully soon you won't have to.Zitat:
Zitat von Zidd
well if there could be some sort of hybrid mode that would be ok like using the modded files from a dumped iso and the rest off of the umd would be cool but i dont see that happening
Thanks for helping but I allready tried that one.Zitat:
Zitat von soccerPMN
I tried to do what you did and the size of the files do change. but when i put them into the ISO the game still won't start. It freezes at the black screen where it says loading game...Zitat:
Zitat von NEvolution
what I have done:
- made a folder called mphgameloader, in this folder are 2 folders called flash0 and flash1 and a file called mphloader.prx
- installed DecryptPRX
- installed Firmware 2.00 files with MPH firmware launcher
I use the US version of GTA and have a JAP. PSP
What am i doing wrong?
EDIT: Is it normal that the size of the iso changes a lot when you have replaced the PRX files?
Samurai Warriors works (the jap one). U have to use decrypted PRXs from GTA.
so is the loader at mph's site the full one? because in the readme it still says its a demo
i dont know, im using demo with patchZitat:
Zitat von gracz54
Exactly the same problem. Also, the flash0, flash1 folders were generated from the 2.00 EBOOT by Firmware Launcher. Man, MPH is great but his english sucks... :pZitat:
Zitat von hansjeb
hint:
to have text in the save and load menus, just use a 2.0 flash1 :p
I can get GTA working without problem, but Megaman is giving me some trouble what exactly do i need to decrypt with this game before recompiling the iso and stuff?
Additionally, it is okay to USE a backup ONLY if the original is lost or damaged. This clearly is being violated by using the MPH Game Loader - unless all of you have coincidentally broken your GTA UMD.
SOS PEOPLE USED THE WRONG QUOTE
MY CAT ATE PART OF MY GTA UMD (BOY AM I S OHAPPY I BACK UP ALL OF MY GAMES)
please can someone explain how I get the contents of the flash0 and flash1 folders. i really can't work it out. I need gta on 1.5.
Have You Got The File In The Root Of Your Psp Or In Game?
Read the tutorial/guide for the MPH Firmware Launcher as direct help for getting these files is not allowed in this thread from what I understand.Zitat:

Zitat von Hopper

Yes - it most certainly is.Zitat:
No, it's not.
That - would be incredibly silly dont you think? I mean really think about it (after Googling, or asking a lawyer or something) - why would you rule in favor of fair use for only ONE group, but rule against it in another. Fair use backups are, and always have been, perfectly legal.Zitat:
The rule for "backups" only applies to computer programs.
All that you posted was Copyright law as it applies to COMPUTER GAMES.
Getting the GTA iso working requires patching of the legally backuped file (whether its a patching that circumvents DRM files is beyond me as I didnt create the program) - the MPH loader exists REGARDLESS of the ISO (but is largely useless without it). Your point is only made insofar as someone pirating the game - not being in possession of the actual program.Zitat:
Plus, this GTA loader business requires you bypass protection and patch the ISO. So you've kinda made my point for me.
You have to use the v2.0 Flash0 and Flash1 files, that's what he meant.Zitat:
Zitat von Hopper
Regarding if you need to enable Flash0/Flash1, we're not allowed to tell you as that is assisting/helping with the use of the Game Loader.
fair enough.
though they are the flash files i'm using. no biggie anyways if i cant get it working.
since the released of edison carters 0.9 cheat device, im itching to use it.
i hope mph / ec finds a way to run it on there. at the moment his chet device supports 2.0,2.01,2.50 and 2.60, i hope to see 1.00/1.50 on there soon
