im redoing the gui again making a batch file of no use hopefully :) (dont get me wrong i like batch files for there adjustability but sometimes having a gui is just easier)
im hoping to be able to make the program copy the fonts to the correct folder on your psp as well as detecting it but i may add that at a later date if it becomes too hard to do.
im taking recommendations for adjustments to the gui if anyone uses it, so post here and ill try and get popular changes implemented. :)
anger, is the batch file inside your graphical ui prog the same as the original, or is it an edited version? Also, when i try shadows, i get BSOD, any thoughts?
no i am going to be doing the same thing that the batch file would do using the gui itself.
well this is not sarcastic so dont snap but dont use shadow values if they cause problems (if using my program 0.0 for blur and shadow values does this.) either that or try a different font - theres a few fonts that cause problems, maybe you using one of the trouble ones. thats about all i can suggest. or maybe try very low values for the shadow and see if that works (cant go lower than 0.1 anyway)
KK, I'll try that in a min. What sort of exploit are we going to try on this skylark? Buffer overflow? Recoding the inside of the font file? etc.
im sure he has already tried many possible ways to exploit the font (as has his comrades probably) so basically i think were looking for any font exploit that can lock up a psp (not shut down - at least thats what i think) as i think if it locks up its a buffer overflow/underrun. i could be shamefully wrong about this so feel free to enlighten me :)
also on a side note i cant post the new version of the gui at this time. (it is ready)
this is because the wrong version of ttf2pga was posted by mistake. i have done this myself in the past so its no biggie - just means the gui v0.2 will be delayed a bit.
There's a lot of 'let's' im hearing? I have only seen a couple people actually help Skylark, Freeplay, etc. with providing links and such to inetersting and possibly helpful information. But I suppose it is very difficult to help such a tedious quest. The last, like, 5 days, this thread has gotten a lot of "exploit" and "downgrader" questions that can spam/clog an interesting thread up very easily, so I'm just saying that if anyone has ANY question, please Search the Thread itself... Or else people who may know a thing or 2 have to look through over 600+posts, with about half "exploit"/"downgrade" questions/excitement.
Oh well.... just my opinion ^^
I completely agree, dont make this thread get locked like the last one
maybe one of the mods/admins wouldnt mind pruning the thread down to the vital bits to make for easier reading, and before it gets any larger :Cry:
Another alternative could be to post a thread in the Developer's Dungeon, where you could talk to just dev's... but then again, not much people read that forum, and Skylark hasn't been given premium, oddly, I think he really deserves it.
i competly agree - him teamoverload and freeplay all deserve it as they collaborated on these font programs together. but unfortunatly it is not our decision.

And about the Devlopers Dungeon thing, that would be cool, but bad too, what if a new comer joins, knows everything about TTF files and/or PGF converting some way/how, and knows how to execute code through it, then how does the newby with 1 post post in the Devlopers Dungeon?

hey guys, i was wondering if there is a way to implement the selection of different fonts, like a sub-folder /wiondow in flashmod? Is this possible? I dont code but thought it would make a nice addition, also could the font in flashmod be changed to something larger, I have trouble reading it on psp2tv, on my regular tv. Otherwise keep up the excelent werk. I'm going to hunt the net to see if i can find info about ttf exploiits. maybe i'll find some pertenant info. BRB

can someone tell me what this means, like where in the installation tutorials did i get a ms0:/fontmod foler???
ok the version 0.2 of the gui is complete - this version removes the need for a batch file as it scans for your psp and as long as you have a fontmod installed in a folder on your psp called fontmod it will copy over the ltn0.pgf and replicate it exactly like the batch file. i have also implemented the changes required for skylarks updated program and implemented character limiting in the textboxes and also range limiting so you cant damage your psp with a badly typed input.
just waiting for skylark to get in touch about the program that does all the work and then ill post it. im actually quite proud of this version if only for the psp detection :)

hey that was my font i requested and i find that effencive/batch wont work read my location
i want to try this, but what the heck is a Hex editor. i copied the files needed and then i stopped when it said Hex editor. can you guys help me out? please
ugh....Im thinking of a very simple FlashMod that all you need is the 4 different files, the 16 that are changed by 1 number can be easy to add 1 integer to at the en everfytime writing that file until 15, too busy at the moment tho....

hmmm..... A Hex Editor ON the PSP wouldnt be that hard actually... In some of my spare time Im going to through together a short little 1 file hex editor, just for my knowledge.... Im gonna need some more information about Hex and such..... Soccer has helped alot whenever we get stuck at some obstacles. If anyone has some ideas towards this, PM me.

No because a font is just an array of characters, no color calues are held at all?

No, PGF fonts are just alpha bitmaps.
As to exploits: I've found a number of ways to lock up the PSP with the font (makes it shut down with a watchdog), but that doesn't mean anything. A kernel exploit is unlikely, however even an userland exploit would be extremely useful. This way we could just use GTA once, to get the mod in, and then use the font exploit to get homebrew. What's one copy of GTA shared between friends - like $10 per person, haha :-)

Is a downgrader unlikely skylark? Actually that is a stupid question because you would not know yet. But just having to run the GTA game once and then having never to run homebrew through it again would be a huge step if it could be done (wwhich it hopefully could be).

I cant seem to find a cool font that I like and that will work sweet with my psp =( does anyone have any suggestions and links to the font via http://www.dafont.com/ b/c I really wanna pimp my psp out with this =) thanks!

Use the halo font, and there is a tutorial to request fonts already just so you know....!!!!
