Correct..but we are attempting something similar. So anyways are you guys making any progress with the checksum. I might begin to work on that if you guys arent having any luck
Edit: See the attached document for different checksums in different cases
The Xbox exploit exploits a hole in the security of the system through the fonts.Zitat:

So where is the difference?
The difference is that this no longer has anything to do with fonts.Zitat:

Even if it did, just because two systems use font bugs as points-of-entry for exploits, it doesn't mean they're at all similar. PSP fonts and XBox fonts are constructed and processed in entirely different ways.
Also, TO: I should've explained a bit better. The checksum is stored for each indiviidual entry in the DREG file, meaning that each system setting has its own checksum. I'd bet that it's all the same algorithm, but figuring out what that algorithm is could be troublesome.
Oh that complicates things :(
Would it be possible to create a homebrew "Brute force" application that will force the algorithm for us? I know it would take a VERY long time to get a result on it, but this would pretty much confirm a hack right?
interesting idea, but even if it's possible: how would the homebrew know/confirm it is the correct algorithm?
I believe it'll take human brains. :(
If this has nothing to do with fonts why is the thread called the "Font disscussion"?
Because it is an attempt at an exploit that is going to use the font. Understand now?
But Freeplay has just repeatedly said that fonts aren't involved at all
