System.dreg/Font Discussion

i dont have a problem with you making a gui - it is your own damn program. what im angry about is you didnt even have the decency to tell me you were making your own. i wouldnt have had to continue my version had i known. it would have been common decency to tell me my program sucked or was of no use - that would have been better than not bloody well telling me at all and letting me find out like this.

my version also covered every command line parameter the font converter supported - i checked the source code for all the command line parameters so i really dont know what you mean by "all". there was no other command line parameters to work with. maybe you forget im a simple human being who doesnt spend 24-7 programming and only has a little vb and cpp knowledge.

i dont normally spend ages making programs for others to enjoy, therefore i dont like want or need competition, least of all from people i thought were happy with what i was doing - my god was i wrong or what.

but at least now i know not to offer to help developers, that way i wont get stabbed in the back again. people who cant program worth a crap have more personality in there little finger than you will ever have. THATS who ill be helping from now on.

Guess what? Skylark made it in about two days. I had nothing to do with it.

Also, I recall quite clearly saying, when you released the initial version, that I planned to try and make a PSP-based GUI. So yes, you were warned.

Jesus Christ, it's a PROGRAM. Do you know how often I check this thread? Never, essentially. This is the first time I've been back here since you first RELEASED your program. It's not my responsibility to keep track of what you're doing. I have a life, and it does not revolve around this forum.

If you're pissed off, fine. You think we stabbed you in the back? How? Nobody was forcing you to make this program.

Stop being such a child. Nobody betrayed you. You did this work for your own benefit. Totally unsolicited. You have no right to be pissed that we made our own GUI.

Who knows, maybe you'll be able to make a better one. Personally I don't care. Attacking us for wanting to do something with the program we've come up with is totally immature and arrogant.

Grow up. Seriously. If you were doing it for us, you were misguided, because we never requested it.

As for the new options, unless you were using the absolute latest version of ttf2pgf, you were likely missing them. The version of your GUI that I saw had only a couple options.

Who ever said that this would lead to a downgrader. As far as I know there has
not been a way to succesfully execute code that can access the flash or any code for that matter as far as I know. A font converting program is useful because the only thing the font hack can do is redirect the PSP to read fonts off of the memory stick and this is the only thing it can do for now. So yes this program is useful for the capabilitys this hack has at the moment. I hope you now feel enlightened on the current situatuion there could be a downgrader or other exploit to come from this but from what I have read it is unlikely but not impossible.

It doesn't "help" you find exploits its not that easy. All this does is redirect the PSP into loading fonts off the memory stick by editing the PSP's "registry" which is located on the flash1: drive. I don't see an exploit coming out of this.

If you find an exploit that allows unsigned code to be run then yes. Otherwise no.

I read the tutorial, about making fonts install to your system.dreg, ho about if your memory card gets corrupted? Are you basically screwed?

Im pretty sure this has been proved to not be able to run unsigned code, so no exploit...

Not even coupled with the new kernel mode exploit? I just don't want to rush out and buy a new psp...

Ok, I hate to bump an old thread but I have been trying to make a pgf loader for a while now, I even made a program to scan for characters (without success). Unfortunately all the links on this page relating to pgf fonts seems to be down and yapspdoc seems only to have very limited info on the format.
Is there anyone who can post some links/info about the font that would help me on my quest to render pgf's or should I just give up and look for the ttf version of the fonts from fontworks.

PS: Thanks to all the people that spammed this thread up so much, that it is now impossible to scan it for information.
