For all font hackers, I'm documenting my progress pretty much real-time on the Toc2rta Wiki. Even if there won't be an exploit, I'll try to make custom fonts

I'm getting sick of this, who cares if some member got banned? I don't care how active he was, i don't care what he has contributed to PSP Updates, if he was banned, it was for a reason he deserved, if he was wrongly blamed, it will be sorted out, but posting:

Why not try to keep this thread ontopic and stop spamming out your utterly useless opinion. And if you think TO is "some member" then please crawl back under the rock you came from..
If you have any knowledge in detecting the stream termination in the RLE compressed fonts of the PSP, you're more than welcome to participate, otherwise, go bug some other topic, because I don't think your post has helped loads of people either..

Skylark: I thought RLE was only used for TIFF and PDF file formats, or is it applyable to other files too?

Interested: For any of you that want to know or forgot how RLE compression works, here's a short explanation:
Let's say we have a 17 bytes string: AABBBBCDEEEFFFFF
RLE will compress this to: $2A$4BCD$3E$5F (2 times A, 4 times B, C, D, 3 times E, 5 times F)
note: the $ sign can be replaced by any sign, not existing in the file's source, so perhaps * or &.

RLE is usable for all manner of data that is likely to consist of variable length runs of the same bit/byte pattern.

Fonts are perfect for this, since they're typically just bitmasks with lots of horizontal / vertical lines.

Seems a little surprising to me that anyone bothers to compress font data, I wouldn't have thought that it would be all that big in the first place. But I guess they do.
