Default are there ahy more secure security features than syscalls?

sorry if i sound noobish, but since the 2.6 syscalls have been cracked alrdy, does that mean sony will have to implement something else?

like double syscalls? or something like that?

what my point is, are there other ways to put more security features onto the PSP besides syscalls?

They could search for and block the current eloader files in savegame, but that could be easilf fixed by changing some file names.

The eLoader seems pretty rock solid, unless they directly patch the GTA exploit into the firmware, somehow.

1. They could change the SYSCalls again but they can not really make SYSCalls on top of the current ones how ever they can add new Calls for new features in new firmwares. SYSCalls are is whats used to send and receive controlls (I think).

2. As far as sony starting from scratch and remodiling the whole firmware they will deffinately not do that (In My Opinion) because there will be brand new exploits to be found that are not known of and are not patched yet. Where as the current firmwares have already had most of the known exploits patched already with newer firmwares (not remodled just updated and patched)

They could in a future firmware assign arbitrary save codes to each psp any save which does not orriginate on that psp (have the save code for that psp) won't run on that psp... seems air tight as long as u can get peeps to upgrade... and u can hide the save code so peeplz can't just hack them and lern what they are or re-set them.

worst bit about this method is that it can be in a future patch, work on all games and not require them to republish previous titles.

There are many ways to make things more secure without breaking older games.

Personally I think it's unwise to go into them, because it's not a good idea to give Sony more ideas than they already have

That is true there. Sony are probably browsing these sites and nicking clever coder's fears and making them reality. Keep security solutions in your head (at least the realistic ones)

I think sony will deploy a task force to go round each owner of the psps house and force them (i mean with force) to upgrade.. Then we will each have a sony guard blocking us from touching our psps ever again!
