Is there anyway for running namco system 22 roms on the PSP, I noticed the MAME emulator packs in the files area and its says it will work with namco but not if it will run system 32? The reason I want this is I have competed all ridger racer games on the PS1 & PS2 and am currently on ridge racer for the PSP but I have never even played this version and realy want asap.

No chance!

The PSP would struggle with System 11/12 (basically an expanded PSone) let alone System 22.

Namco Super System 22 hardware

Main CPU : 68EC020 (@ 24.576 Mhz), (2x) TMS32025 (@ 49.152 Mhz), M37710 (@ 16.384 Mhz)
Sound Chips : C352 (@ 16.384 Mhz)

it would be nice to play soul caliber on psp

Don't hold your breath as those games require 2-3 GHZ pcs to run correctly. And you have to use Zinc for that as Mame is even slower

The PSP only have a 333Mhz CPU that have to do everything so the only games supported by Mame that you can play are the early 80's ones. Even Capcom CPS1 games are out of scope (final fight, street fighter 2, ghouls & ghost,...).

Then again, everyone said PSX is impossible, yet PMF got quite far, and probably will get even further! :-)

No chance. Most of the romsets are far too big anyways.

Time Crisis 2 - 37.3MB

Soul Calibur - 36.7MB

Tekken 3 - 34MB

Etc.

Considering you probably have about 16-20MB of RAM to work with once an emulator is working it seems pretty pointless.

Maybe Tekken would work?
