So, the last couple of nights, I have been dreaming of having DOS running games full speed on my psp. Seeing Scummvm in action has corrupted my mind with these ideas. I know Bochs emulator can run DOS, but I highly doubt its anywhere near full speed. I know that DOS emulators have been made before and run on Linux, but I also notice that they have high system requirements. I downloaded DOSBox and took a look at the source and it seems to be an extremely daunting task. I wanted to ask the community who have more knowledge then I do if we will ever be able to emulate a 486 x86 processor with enough speed to accomplish something. Even though it hasn't happened, it seems possible (If Win95 can boot, I can wait long enough for a game in an rpg or text adventure to move to the next frame I suppose). Please, any ideas or advice?
I didn't put this in the development section because I don't want people screaming REQUEST REQUEST as they do at everyone else. I have done only a few simple tasks in C and am nowhere near the level that this would take but I can learn more if I deem it worthwhile.
