Hi !

I don'T if it's considered like homebrew, but I'm actually developping a flash portal for the upcoming new fw by Sony. I programmed it with the Flash 6 capabilities, if you have any questions or suggestions, tell me !

Current tasks :
- Designing the interface : Almost complete.
- Some funny games : Can't be complete, I don't know how to condigure PSP buttons with commands on Flash.

why would you make something of that type when sonys next firmware is supposed have a flash player? why not make one for 2.0-2.6? the firmware isnt even out yet so how are you gonna make it? the sony one will be better anyway

it's a flash portal to use in the webbrowser of the next firmware, like the other portal for the browser of the PSP, I just made it in case of...

I won't do one of it on 2.0 > 2.6 cuz it don't work. Instead of flaming, try to ask what is it... stoidi

Oh damn it, I'll releasi it when the new fw comes out, that's a project, what I can tell, there's somes games, video player, some apps, anyway, gonna release it in french for the beginning.

yes, it is a very good to see someone telling us your ideas for something new, its i great to see ideas like this, hes pretty much thinking outside the box, while being still inside of it, welcome to the forums and good luck

I designed the interface or the moment, have ideas on paper, I really want to push it on the PSP, when the new fw will be out, I will se what I can do to get the PSP support it.

Nice to see that not everyone is like the two genius at the top of the topic (Sure they never touched Macromedia Flash XD)

I personally just dont think you should design this portal before the firmware is released.
One thing is designing it but actually making it when you dont know the extent of its abilities isnt exactly a smart idea.

i can't believe how dense some ppl can be. all the threadstarter is trying to say is, we already know the next update will have flash. So why not make a portal with all sorts of Macromedia Flash 6 compliant apps. It's not rockets science u know.

As for whether flash is in the browser or not. i believe that it is in the browser, it would be pretty stupid for it not to be.

It think it is a good idea to start early. It isn't like C programming where you have to have the system to produce it. Hope it is good man!

here is a quote from SCEWS President Phil Harrison:

In his address, Harrison announced that PSP games will finally be available via download over the internet to Memory Stick. That includes PS one games (running on a new emulator for the platform) and other titles available by e-distribution, both large and small. He also mentioned two new products for the system, a USB camera / EyeToy (in September) and a GPS device (in October), and both promise gameplay opportunities as well as general use functions. The PSP's front end will be receiving an upgrade for its RSS features and will do Flash while browsing the internet. It was also mentioned that video and still camera features will be implemented (assumedly with the same EyeToy camera), and that VOIP (character ) will be a big component of the system in the future. In general, "communication-based" gaming is one direction the PSP will explore in future titles.

YOU have a point, rocket science is pretty tough, hehe.
I cant believe so many of u can just come and tell the guy that it is kinda weird to start making it before the new firmware... And on the other hand, he is perfectly right, obviously he would just be using anything that works with the current flash version.

En fait ce que je veux faire c'est le produire d'avance et quand le nouveau firmware va sortir, et bien c'est simple, je m'arrangerai pour qu'il fonctionne sur la PSP.

well this is a very funky idea :P i like it, if i ever decided to update i would use it

oh and for those who wonder how it can be developed for the psp without the firmware being out, flash can be played on the computer before going to the PSP. and for the guy who said things might not go right for Sony and not finish the flash player... this is a multi-million dollar company, although they do set releases back alot, i have never seen them ditch an idea when they said it would be available. (yes i know, the psp came clocked at 222 instead of 333, but 333 is still available isn't it?)

Got some news : the name of this portal is Oazis Start, okya why Oazis ? simply because this site is gonne be released in a normal version, and a PSP browser version, already made the design, and it's pretty fcking cool, I just have to test if the PSP support PNG 32 transparency, if it can handle that, It'll be perfect !

But, for the portal, I try to make it possible to stream SWFs, no need to go to newsground :P, Also I'm trying to put funny games such as blast billard... I'm about to release the layout soon in this thread or another one...
