Default PSP Phone or am I just smoking crack?

The subtitle for this particular forum is Discuss PSP Hacks - Firmware, Swaploit, Background hack, Web browser, Phone, etc. With phone being in the subtitle does that mean that we would be able to use the PSP as a cellphone or does that mean something else entirely? I highly doubt it could happen but that would be pretty cool if it did.

perhaps voIP through WiFI.. but i don't really see the PSP getting any added accessories for Phone... it wouldn't exactly be mobile then would it?!

SMS will (and i guess is possible right now) be possible through the browser.. such as cbfsms.com (can't be bothered to check, but i guess that will work as a free SMS sender thru wifi)

I would have to say this is certainly not on the radar. First of all there is NO mic. Though possible through a hardware hack I am sure, but I would not go around holding my PSP up to my head. Heck my Treo is almost too big and its half the size of a PSP. Also think about battery life. It wouldn't be that reliable. and most likely be dead when you really need it.

Thanks

well when i first read about the PSP aaaaaaaggggggggeeeeeeeess sssssss ago, when it wasnt even out in america, sony said there is possibilities for the PSP to have cellular activity, and i then also read another article somewhere, think it was in early may, that sony were thinkin of includin sum mobile phone technology in there firmware and bring out sum stuff for it. hopefully this is true

This probally could easily be done because i had an n-gage that had bluetooth and there was an app called Walkietalkie B
it would be even better if there was a webbrowser app that works through wifi and usb cable.

It's a wank. Use your friggen mobile for SMS and calls. Use your PSP for games and storing pictures of your neked grandma, like normal people do.

Look try and not get off topic here. I am not going to share my crack with anyone. Least of all me. My crack is sacred and should not be fondled by human hands. Fortunately I found a loophole around this using another part of my body that has a hole in it. Can you guess what it is?

Ok, for one there is really no hack needed...look at the hedphone jack, what do you see. Thank you. As for you saying it is not on the radar, you are far off from being right, Sony has talked about using the PSP as a phone. BTW for those of you that are to lazy to look at the headphone jack it has a picture of headset with a mic. You may not actually have to hold it to your ear.

Default Not A headsetphoto

the icon on the PSP is not a picture of a headset it is in fact an icon representing headphones with a remote on the cable you know the one that came with the PSP and plugs in there ( MY God! ) but anyway yes there is enough bandwith in the remote connector to easily make a working headset but It would have to be through an app running on the PSP os from a firmware update that added the feature

Well wasn't Sony planning on coming out with a microphone app, tied in with their international 'babelfish' app that would automatically translate the audio to different languages? So couldn't that be used for someone to base a VoIP app off of?
