In case anyone ran into this problem lately, you may have noticed that after setting up your SMS emulator to use hidden corrupt icon you it was no longer able to locate your roms.
This is due to the fact that the emulator always tries to locate the roms in your PSP/GAMES/SMS/ROMS folder..meaning if you put your roms in your PSP/GAMES/SMS 1 folder, your emulator will never find them...EVER. To solve this problem create a new folder in your PSP/GAMES directory called SMS then inside that folder create a ROMS folder...put all your roms in there. Now you can load up your hidden corrupt icon version and still have it able to locate your roms. Just a heads up incase nobody realized this yet.

Best thing to do is just keep your directories as SMS% and SMS without using Hidden Corrupt icons. |

hey great find!!! this can be applied to ANY homebrew that has redquired dir paths in order to run, (i.e. DOOM, SMS). just create the required folder (i.e PSP/GAME/PSP-DOOM/WADS/) put your WADS or roms or whateverin the required folder and you can have any name you want for your main app and app% including renamed to hide corrupted icons. as long as the path exists for your homebrew to browse or read from, it doesn't matter which directory its being booted from. the required folder won't show up as a corrupted icon since there is no PBP file in the directory. does that make sense? the downside is that now you've got three folders instead of two! (if you're a 1.5 user) i never really bothered to hide my corrupt icons because i knew that there were apps that had required dirs so If I couldn't hide all of them why bother??? but as long as you make those directories, everything will load up fine even with your icons hidden. good job man!!! |
