In this guide, I am going to show you how to make a menu for Homer's RIN/GeMP! The first guide ever! If you don't have any of the big image programs, then this guide is for you, I will make a photoshop guide later, but for now let's go into MS paint!
First of all, here's Cortes The Killer's Template for RINMENUs:
but, if you wan't to make a RINMENU in MSPaint, your going to need to use my modified one:
OK, if you wan't to make one from scratch, I can't instruct you through that part, but I will instruct you on how to make a prexisting wallpaper or image into a RINMENU! But first your going to need to save the template I gave you just above this for later on.
Step 1: Find an image or wallpaper, I'm going to be using this one:
Step two: This is my method for resizing photos to your exact measurments in MSPaint, so listen carefully! First your going to have to open up MSPaint, then go into the menu and click on image, then click attributes, then enter in 480x272 in the size of the image. When you finish that, then click the paint can button, then adjust the color at the bottom of the screen to black. Then you have to paintcan the whole thing black, that's important for resizing so don't forget it! Then you copy the image you want to resize, and paste it, then click the lower left corner of the image, and make it a bit smaller, but not smaller then 480x272, I suggest making the image about 700x400ish, ok, here's the difficult part! Now you have to drag the photo down a bit like so:
Then grab the right corner to match up with the black like so:
Now you do the same thing with the height like so:
Now just drag the bottom up to fit the black, and drag the whole image over the black, then go back into the image menu, then click attributes again, then put in 480x272..again. now your image should look like this:
Well, your image is now 480x272!
Step 3: Remember when I told you to save my template? Well go open it up now, and copy the whole thing. Be sure that in the toolbar, it's like this:
Step 4: Open up the resized image from step 2, and paste the image from step 3, now the template will cover your image! It should look like this:
Normal images, don't have the dark red, so you can see the outline, however since this one does, go into the magnifying glass and zoom in to the parts of the outline you can see, then go and click paint can, make sure it's on white and paintcan the outline white, and do this for the whole outline and it should look like this:
Well, that's it, now you have a rinmenu, this one looks crappy because I didn't save it as a BMP, if you save it as a BMP it'll look like this:
Now, did that seem so hard? If it did, well then it'll be easier next time! I will probably make a tutorial on advanced MSPaint RINMENUs soon!
I'd really appreciate feedback, so please vote in the poll!
