Default Use a wireless ir controller on PSP?

This may be stupid or possibly wont work, but would it be possible for a program on the psp that could make the PS2 dvd remote (or any other remote) control the psp?

Maybe. Not through the actual menu though.

Yeah I just wanted it for games, because the PS2 DVD remote has all the buttons and I thought it would be cool if someone got it to work.

Probably. If the program were written as a TSR hook, the code could run in the background even while the system menu was up. For example, look at the programs that can take you back into the system menu and grab screenshots.

We know plenty. Look at IRShell, PSPShot, etc. - programs that run in the background, not interfering with the XMB until you press a specific button to take a screenshot.

In the same way, we could make a program that polls the IR port and spits out keypad press codes when it receives certain signals.

Then again... what would be the point??

And all the game/homebrew/movies will never use more then the 15 buttons plus analog stick.

also the lag time for IR is way too slow for games. You won't have the ability to press 2 buttons at the same time.

If you don't belive me, just look at any of the IR keyboard ports.
