I was lookin for Quake mods when I found this: http://singe.telefragged.com/slide/
It looked interesting, so I thought I'd try it out on my psp.
First off I found that the (registered game)pak1.pak is required to play mod maps, sorry guys..
If you've got the pak0(shareware version) and pak1(registered version), just copy the pak2 and pak3 in this(the first two files from the link above: slidemod itself, and the first map pack; I renamed them to paks 2 and 3) to your ID1 folder, If you've already got a pak2 or 3 rename the new paks to the next successive numbers.
Now to get it to play:
In the readme for the pak2 it says to type the command 'map slstart' into the quake console, we can't do that without a keyboard, so in my AUTOEXEC.cfg I added...
alias client_0 "exec client.cfg"
alias slidemod_0 "map slstart"
alias option_3 "bind ~ option_4;bf;clear;echo SELECT = next option;echo RIGHTARROW = Quake Control Menu;echo;bind RIGHTARROW control_0;"
alias option_4 "bind ~ option_5;bf;clear;echo SELECT = next option;echo RIGHTARROW = Slidemod Start;echo;bind RIGHTARROW slidemod_0;"
alias option_5 "bind ~ option_0;bf;clear;echo SELECT = next option;echo RIGHTARROW = reload autoexec.cfg;echo;bind RIGHTARROW autoexec_0;"
bind "~" "option_0"
**edit** it also says in the readme that 'impulse 100' is used in single-player mode to activate the board. I also noticed, on the RuneQuake server, impulse 100 activates rune; so in the rune.cfg I removed "rune use" and replaced it with "impulse 100".
After you start Quake you'll see a 'new' intro demo, just start a new singleplayer game and press select several times until you see the 'RIGHTARROW = Slidemod Start', then press right on d-pad to begin. Then activate rune.cfg via select button menus and press the button assigned to rune use to activate/deactivate hoverboard.
--Not interested in Quake on hoverboards, but have QuakeV2+GP? Here's how to play using the God mode cheat...
I've found that using mostly the same method described above(in bold), you can create an option in the menu that types "god" into the console, thereby activating God Mode; example:
[[[alias cheat_0 "god"]]]
[[[alias option_4 "bind ~ option_5;bf;clear;echo SELECT = next option;echo RIGHTARROW = Enable God Mode;echo;bind RIGHTARROW cheat_0;"]]]
