After constant trying of DGEN v0.7, 1.30 & 1.40 I finally have it working on my PSP FW 2.01.
Here was the problem: When you copy the files over to the folder under PSP\GAME\DGEN the only files that are copied are: EBOOT.PBP MENU.PNG BG.PNG SKIN.PNG readme.txt (you don't need this) Once the emulator is run (even although it may hang once it runs), it requires a config file to actually work. The emulator on its first run will create additional folders in the DGEN folder called: CHEAT STATE CFG SAVE You need to copy the loader.cfg file into the CFG folder...well at the moment I've got the loader095.cfg file in the CFG folder, I take it this is from an older version of Fanjita's eLoader (version .095 maybe?). Anyway, now the DGEN emulator works, although I now have another problem that people may help me with? You normally get back to the emulator settings using the left shoulder trigger, this sometimes works, but normally after I change roms it doesn't work, although the actual game works a treat, there is just no way back to the emulator, which means no way back to the eLoader. Can anyone help me with this? Should I use a newer loader config file? Should I try v0.7 of DGEN (which is supposed to be more stable, but no sound)? What do you suggest? Cheers in advance. Anyway, the emulator runs Sonic perfectly IMHO and it looks smoother than the SNES emulation I also have. |

So basically, I believe that there are people like me out there who have been having problems with DGEN and other emulators and the specific information is not perfect out there. |

Dgen is known for its "rare" stability on psp's
Version 0.7 does worked the best for me , loads everytime ,no hangs but no options. So i tryed version 1.3 on my GTA- beta eloader and i could not get it to work. Had 3 differend kinds of config-files placed over and forth but no sucsess. Even tryed to edit the congig files with help from the Forum-members (THNX) and still no sucsess. I do have a 1.3 version up and running now on my 2.01 psp with "Bock" Didn't do any extra stuff, or changed anything What I'm trying to say is that many people say they got their DGEN working and many people doesn't.(2.01 - 2.5 - 2.6 -don't know about 1.0 or 1.5 users) |
