Default Links ported to PSP!

Check it out on Raf's blog: http://rafpsp.blogspot.com/
He's ported Links2 to the PSP, so hopefully soon 1.5 users will have a fully homebrew web browser that supports images and text input, etc.

I hope that he updates the retawq with danzeff, because I love that browser for how fast it is, as it is text-only.

Can't wait for the release!!!

Yea, I sometimes use it to browse the forums during class.
Hopefully the full fledged one will be just as fast.

Yes, I fear that it will be slower though due to loading images.

Mr. Game, you idiot, why would need a console based web browser, when you have a fully functional one in your firmware?

iball, Lynx is pretty sexy, it really is. Superlightweight.
As the comments revealed, Danzel has been working on a port as well, but by looking at the screenshots, it seems this one is pretty stable, hence the fact it handles pspupdates, which is a heavy site.

Now all I want is a release...

I remember when Lynx was the ONLY web browser to be had. Back in the days of CSLIP connections, Gopher, and having to telnet to check your email.
But in today's internet, any browser that can't display pictures is worthless.

Yeah, I remember those times as well, but we're talking about Links2 here, not Lynx. Links2 supports pictures, javascript, etc.

OUT!

Trying it now, It comes with PSPRadio... (Appears to be a plugin)

http://ftp.berlios.de/pub/pspradio/p...prerelease.zip

Edit : Wow, This is actually quite good its just like the xbox version, But it can run out of memory and display a red screen, but for a first release this is impressive.

What's even more impressive is that it runs quite well considering i have a Radio stream in the background! This is well worth checking out.

y is the zip file a torrent when I download it? Renaming it to a .zip makes it work but still y was it a torrent to begin with?

EDIT: Turning off images helps ALOT with the memory issue, Im browsing the forums right now, this is MUCH better than the fired up browser and the Tenchi No Man browser. Cant wait to see it get better. To turn of images, on any webpage bring up the the text input thing and then push * once and images are disabled, push it again to enable them.

My bad for not following my own damn rules...researched it out more.
I read "links" and saw "lynx".

Looks neat and has been recompiled for just about every processor known to man:
alpha
amd64
arm
hppa
i386
ia64
kfreebsd-i386 (unofficial port)
m68k

powerpc

sparc

Now all that it sounds like needs to happen is to tweak it to reduce the out-of-RAM issues.

I agree, this is most definitely much better than those ripped browsers.
Only two things have not worked so far: PSPU Front Page and PC version of e-messenger.
But otherwise, I'd say it's just like the 2.0 browser.

Isn't there a 'formatted-for-portable-browsers' version of pspupdates/QJ.net yet?
Hell, even the NDS is getting a browser soon. And the next GamePark handheld is going to have 802.11 built-in so you know that's going to have a browser.
Actually, it looks like it might have MORE features than the built-in 2.0+ browser.

Also you can download directly to the memory stick.

WAWI sounds great.
I've written a guide about how to control Winamp from PSP Radio using retawq and Links using SongRequester and Oddcast on the PC

The thread is here: Guide: How to stream MP3s to your PSP (better version)

Your WAWI interface looks nice too, I'll look into it.

EDIT: Looking at WAWI it looks much better than song requester, yet the song requester was the only thing that worked on Retawqm, I'll rewrite the guide to include WAWI once I get the hang of it, thanks for showing it to me.
