The eloader doesn't have kernal access so you won't be able to load any remote app from it!!!

Remote Apps do not use kernal mode.. They use Infrared, which the eLoader does have almost full support for with the GTA eLoader.

Until someone makes a new homebrew program or updates one of the current remotes, it will WORK but not send signals.

sony remote works, and sends signals to sony tv's. Somone needs to reconfigure IR commander so that it sends signals. Right now, it will load, but won't send signals

the other ones dont work because they have a differnt type of signal.. thats why only sony remote works because it does it for only sony models

What the hell are you talking about? We have full iR support with the GTA eLoader. Do we need kernal access to access WiFi as well? Don't talk out of your ass buddy.

1:- Yes the remote programs do need Kernal.
2:- The wifi on BOCK has nothing to do with kernal, as fan and dit got someone to show them how to use WiFi without kernal.

eLoader 0.96 Release notes:

- Support for Infrared applications (e.g. remote control) [GTA only]

So, 2.01+ could use Infrared (Remote control programs) which somehow needs kernal from what you're saying?

Tum te tum.

The eLoader supports all the native IR support in the PSP, in GTA mode. It doesn't need kernel access to do this, because the necessary modules are already loaded by GAME mode.

This means that SIRCS and IrDA both work fully.

However, some IR apps (most notably IRShell, I don't know about IRCommander, but probably applies to most universal remotes) use kernel-only techniques to reprogram the IR and send non-SIRCS (i.e. non-Sony) IR codes. These can't work on v2.0+ because of the lack of kernel access.

Wifi would normally require kernel mode to initialise, but Chris Swindle found and researched some user-mode syscalls that were introduced by Sony in v2.0 to allow wifi to be started from user mode. Since Bock (0.97), the eLoader uses those functions to enable wifi without needing kernel.

Thank you. I wish people wouldn't post unless they knew EXACTLY what was wrong, or at least say that they are sure their answer is correct. Two of those who answered this have said the same thing in similiar threads on remotes, and I have said exactly what you have. They just don't listen...

I think you are right proberly one could be made where it allready has preset remotes in it for most things and if you wanted to change them you would have to do it manually. By saving over the preinstalled ones or something that could be possible. But there are proberly some very complicated reasons why that won't work.

sony remote works because it doesnt require kernal, ir commander doesnt because it uses kernal functions.
