How To Make CheatDevice Work On 1.50 Without Crashing...

Requires:

Run UMD 0.01.01a1 <experimental> - http://files.psphacks.net/download.php?file=107

CheatDevice v0.7c+ - www.maxbot.com

GTA:LCS

On 1.5 CheatDevice only works with Run UMD but crashes after a few minutes, but with this cheat, you can play all day without it crashing!

1. Put these cheats into a cheats.txt file.

setint(0x09F6C0C0, 0, 1);
setint(0x09F6C2F4, 0, 1);

#cheat Teleport To Mission
teleport(1455.69, -186.05, 55.41)

2. Run GTA with Run UMD 0.01.01a1 <experimental>.

3. Load the CheatDevice savegame.

3. Activate 'Create Mission' cheat.

4. Reload the gamesave.

5. Activate 'Teleport To Mission' cheat.

6. Find a car or bike and make sure Sal gets in.

7. Activate the hover car cheat.

8. Drop Sal off at the nearby lighthouse.

9. Teleport somewhere else.

Make sure that after you teleport away, it doesn;'t say that you left sal behind otherwise it may crash.

Now the game will not crash unless you kill Sal. I dont know if this works with other misions but this one works fine. I only tested this with CheatDevice 1.0c so if it doesn't work with other versions, download the newest version.

Sorry about the occassional 'I aint planning on walking outta here!', 'Toni! we're gonna need a car!' or 'What the Hell are you doing?' from Sal.

Why doesnt cheatdevice work on 1.5? I'm not really in to that part of the community, cheats isnt my type :P

dunno, it just doesn't work on MPH, just Run UMD which always crashes without this cheat.

the reason why it doesnt work on 1.5 on mph because 1.5 has different syscalls than 2.0+. and cheatdevice runs on the 2.0+ syscalls. i guess somehow runumd locates different syscalls and lets cheat device run.

Yeh, what he said... LOL

I was playing yesterday and i realized that when you teleport away, if you teleport to another island the PSP will not crash but if you teleport to the same island it says you left sal behind then it crashes after about 10 minutes, so make sure after you teleport away the blue marker doesn't coe up on your map. i will edit the first post now.

With Joeyt2005's Guide, this is basically the same thing, only a few steps reduced and no annoying "Sorry about the occassional 'I aint planning on walking outta here!', 'Toni! we're gonna need a car!' or 'What the Hell are you doing?' from Sal.", and You dont need to keep someone alive, u can do whatever you want, as long as you dont finish the mission

Step 1) Make sure you have the cheat device and RunUMD installed properly

Step 2) Launch Run UMD, if the cheat device auto loads, your set, if it loads a game save, just load up the cheat device save

Step 3) Teleport to "SSV Police Station" (in cheat device)

Step 4) Get the Mission from Sal

Step 5) Go Crazy =D your set, teleport away, go crazy in SSV, do whatever you want, raise water, gather spell, no crashes =)

Reason why i think it works: The reason it crashes normally with RunUMD is beacuse it runs in the Network RAM, and Just running around the city normally, i think it is also using up Network RAM beacuse u could start a multiplayer game at any time, But in a mission, U have no choice to start a Multiplayer Game, so it clears up the Network RAM, and you have as much as you want to use with the GTA Cheat Device, and with t free'd up, it wont crash, but as soon as the mission ends, your network RAM is limited again, so it could crash

actually...
runumd supports multiplayer, mphgl doesnt, and i think the cheat device uses the memory reserved for multiplayer... so ya, no multiplayer no cheat device.

Nice work Animex2. so then, no-one knows why RunUMD writes to the flash and even the authors say it doesn't but after scanning Buttons Mashing Revoultion and it saying that it has flash access, im like WTF?

RunUMD might not even write, just read. Damn, why hasn't MPH release gameloader 1.2 yet, he said he can't even find the multiplayer bug.

i will be very happy when multiplayer works, but hopefully it won't crash like RunUMD, but if RunUMD crashes because of multiplayer, gameloader will crash too but then again MPH is an expert and he will fix that bug if it becomes a bug. LOL.

it has EMULATED flash access, it writes/reads the Flash file in the X Folder on your Memory Stick, it does not read/write to the actual Flash0: and Flash1: parts of your PSP's hardware. That is what the whole point is of what RunUMD Does.

MPH's Release plain doesnt have support for the Network libraries, but RunUMD Does. Simple as that. Just need to wait for a new version.

I am working on converting, and got a few frames of a custom PMF playing, just a few hundred more to go Damn this is hard work.

Pacman was for when your converting your pmf's to avi and Chat is for the latest updates, patches and other ****.

I have a question.

1.) When you teleport to the SSV police station, you walk right into the yellow marker right? The mission Dead Reckoning?

The only reason why I want to know, is because the cheat device is the only reason why I'm staying on 2.00. I just want to make sure that thats the mission before I downgrade to 1.50.
