Reminds me of trying to get proxies on our school computer. We find one, the school blocks it, we find another way. Likewise, we find an exploit on the PSP, Sony patches it, we find another one. It's an endless cycle. Don't you see? Sorry if this post seems pointless but that thought just dawned on me, it's similar.

This has been known since 1.00 has been hacked.

Most likely sony, because they wont care anymore about psp stuff when ps3 comes out.

I think 3.0 will be last.

thats a nonsense..sony has teams for each system,sony has a team for ps2,psp and stuff,when ps3 comes out sony will not stop making newer versions and stuff for psp

Dont think so.
In Truth Sony has almost won in my opinion.When Sony patchs something they do it right. They've stopped homebrew from
1.51 -PSP MENU
2.01 -Pic Exploits
2.70 -GTA gamesave

Now they prob. have all gamesaves patched in the next fw. Plus where else can you execute code from. Games, Photo, Gamesave folders have all been stoped. So that leaves you with somekind of browser exploit. Which is prob. not going to to happen. But even if it does it'll be patched on 3.00.

PSP is already unfortunitly becoming old news, FW updates or not, after this year, I think Sonly will just leave it at one FW.

No way i didnt buy a psp so that they stopped careing about it...anyway now is when sony will be at its best because now that Europe has psp than they will release all the good games...

The sad part is that when games requiring 2.7+ come out 2.01+ers will have to update....

thats the problem... but i will try 2 maintain my 2.6 as long as possible...

I wont give up the hope on a downgrader... Its just that a downgrader is the only real way 2 secure homebrew ONCE AND FOR ALL

After downgrade is done, theres no need 2 think bout how 2 bypass security, ect... :-/

I really wish we would have a downgrader...

I suppose there is always a way to hack a firmware, the problem is where. You are right legacyxero, they do keep cracking it but it gets harder each time

Hmmm a Fortune 500 company dev team who gets PAID to do what they are doing to stop homebrew.

Or groups of pro-bono ALTHOUGH dedicated devs fighting against a company...

Is it really that hard to see? Of course Sony wont give up, its their JOB, people here and anywhere else are only doing it out of love and enjoyment and in their spare time, eventually somethings got to give and it wont go any further.

This isnt a war between Homebrew and Sony, its a slaughter and Sony will always have the upper hand.

Eventually when the people who manually downgrade psps become 100% successful we can all downgrade to 1.0 and use the 2.7 loaders that allow 1.0s to effective ly emulate a 2.7.

i think there well be some games that are ganna kill(for me ff crises core) i won't care i well up for that game although if sony can perfect flash then at least people well be able to play flash games and theres plenty of them

I have kept 2.0 so I can go either way (I can have GTA on 2.0) but I can still downgrade to other firmwares (I so nearly did for smashg psp)

honestly that's the reason why i'm beginning to think having a backup PSP is necessary.........that being another sad part......forking over another $200

He is talking about hardware modifying. He doesn't comprehend that Sony doesn't allow dual boot firmwares on the newer PSPs.
