Check the psp-readme.txt file for install instructions and details. Also note that ad-hoc play will most likely not work in this release, since I haven't got a chance to test it yet, but infrastructure mode should work just fine. Please remember that you need updated PIG and HOG files.

Can't seem to get it to work. Looks fun, though. Keeps saying "Expecting ~649 lines, returned 555" or something. Patch 1.4a won't work either, just says "Cannot execute Patch.exe"

Cant use shareware files, only the originals from the disks.
Also, the original files HAVE to be 1.0, nothing else.

I had the right stuff, just needed a DOS emulator. How do I input my character's name? Haha.

Press SQUARE and wait for a second, then a default psp keyboard 'keypad' buttons will appear.

Do you have to hold it down or something? That was one of the first things I tried after reading the readme. It's pretty cool, although sometimes a little on the low fps side. Is it running at 222 or 333?

Also, it'd be cool if next version you could combine key presses for more key configs.

Not sure about the clock speed, but its 'normal' speed/fps.

I guess you didn't understand me. It doesn't render as fast as I'd like it to sometimes, and I was wondering what it clocks the PSP at. There is no 'normal' frame rate, by the way.

I've gotta say, though, that this is very awesome :Punk:.

It isen't fun at all that you have to get thought that much struggle
    just to play the game.
I never even got it to work with the patch, wrong files.

How on earth do people play this game on 2.X PSPs? I have a 2.0 PSP and the game boots up just fine... but then I have to enter a pilot-name, and the keyboard won't come up when pressing the SQUARE-button... or holding it... or any other key for that matter.

In the news-comments someone posted that the on-screen keyboard doesn't work on firmwares higher than 1.5 ... so, how are you guys running it on 2.5 then?

I downloaded the timidity patchkit from http://www.anime.net/~goemon/timidity/ , however I have extracted the file and there is no "appropriate timidity.cfg file", and its not located at that link either...

Does anyone know what is going on, or how to get the music working?

Well, just read the README ;-)

You have to rename "goemon.cfg" to "timidity.cfg". Works for me, but still, I can't start the game without entering a player name... and the on-screen keyboard won't work!!!

Hey, thanks for the reply, however I dont have a goemon.cfg to rename!

It didnt come with descent, it didnt come with DescentPSP and it did not come with the timidity patchkit goemon.gz file that I downlaoded/extracted...

    Am I missing something?

Default Cannot open Descent.tex or Descent.txb

Soo after 3 hrs reading the readme, this forum and various sites i still havn't got it to work

i downloaded Descent from a torrent, the readme in the /descent folder on the cd says

    ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ÍÍÍÍ»
    º RELEASE NOTES FOR º
    º DESCENT º
    º REGISTERED/COMMERCIAL 1.4a º
    ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ ÍÍÍͼ

and i put ALL the files into PSP/GAME/Descent just to be on the safe side ;)

but i still got a Cannot open Descent.tex or Descent.txb error

i know that those files should be in the Descent.hog file

ah i got a 2.6 but it should work if it works on 2.5 right?

there is 2 bugs. the first involves the folder names - you cannot rename the folder from descent. if you do you get the above stated errors.
the second is on the savegame screen the list is slightly offset and partially missing. all in all its very damn impressive. i love it to bits even as it is. im thinking about trying to hex a new path into the file so i can use a different folder.
