I don't think so. My advice is to just convert it to MP3. If you want quality, convert it at a higher bit-rate. FLAC just takes up a whole lot of space.

Yea I could do that, but the whole point of FLAC was the quality, but oh well I guess I will just listen to FLAC on my PC.

i would like to say stfu n000b! but that wouldn't be nice. FLAC SUCKS anyway. mp3 is better. lossless codecs are terrible. just convert it to mp3 thru itunes...

Wow, there is so much wrong with this statement.
FLAC is a lossless codec, do you know what that means? It means there is NO loss in quality, it's exactly the same as listening to the music straight off a CD. MP3 is compressed and therefore you can hear artifacts and you miss slight details in the music.

FLAC would be awesome on the PSP but there are limitations, you won't hear much of a difference unless you have really good headphones. Right now I'm using Foobar2000 resampling to 44kHz, listening with an Audigy ZS2 sound card and Grado SR-80s. Only then can I really hear the difference (and it is a huge difference)

Also FLAC tends to be big, but I guess that's not really an issue if you have a 1 Gb memory stick or larger.

Yea I would only have 4 or 5 of my favorite songs in FLAC format just to listen to every detail possible.

And FLai, please try to be positive, everyone is a n00b once in a while, but pointing it out doesn't help anyone.

but using lossless codecs is pointless. it is minor details that you miss. you would never pick up on them. FLAC is about 50mb a song. why do you think no-one uses it?

Minor details is what makes a song great, in some genres anyway. Having rap music in FLAC format would be pointless, but genres such as classical and most multi instrument music will benefit.
50Mb a song isn't bad if you are enthusiastic, hard drives are dirt cheap anyway and I guess I can sacrifice some porn for superior sound quality.

important audio codecs:

mp3, ogg, wma, aac, mp4, mpc, ape

Many of us have a music collection not only with mp3s - f.e. I converted ca half of them to ogg and no, I won´t convert them back to mp3 again since this is blocking my PC for ages and quality is even worse than before.

I can not understand what is so difficult to implement plugin support as we are used to on pc apps (like winamp).

btw mp3 is most successfull but not the best anymore, also we have more storage and larger files are okay for many of us...

I like mp3s better, especially when i know how much to convert it to, to me, the quality isnt different when playing it on pc or psp.

we have a couple ogg players
just convert it to that. Then you will have no loss.

Nevermind, I guess my point isn't seen by the majority, so forget about me asking this question.
