Percival and PSP 3D are proud to release the first version of Super Mario War for PSP, a port of the awesome home-made Super Mario deathmatch game (think of it as a mix of Super Smash Brothers, with the items and actions of Super Mario) orginally developed by Michael Schaffer and Florian Hufsky

The game features a ton of different characters and maps to choose from, a complete library of music, awesome CPU AI, and a variety of game modes to choose from. It's fully modable; read the README.txt included for more information on the game, skinning, and more.

This is a port of Super Mario War v1.6 (see below for more
game information) by Percival and PSP 3D, based off the open source
code. Works on all firmwares via eLoader. Enjoy!

Super Mario War is a Super Mario Deathmatch game.
The goal is to stomp as many other Marios as possible to win the game.
It's a tribute to Nintendo and Mario War originally by Samuele Poletto.

Features:
- Up to four players of deathmatch fun.
- Tons of game modes and map.
- Hilarious unreal tournament announcers (m m m monsterkill).
- More fun than poking a monkey with a stick.
- The whole source code of the game is available.
- uses SDL and is fully portable to windows, linux, xbox, ...
- CPU Players.
- A whole bunch of game modes (featuring GetTheChicken, Domination, and and and).
- Will make you happy and gives you a fuzzy feeling.

Controls

Menu:
Cross - Select
Triangle - Cancel
Circle - Random
Square - View Map

Team select:
Up/Down - Select skin
Left/Right - Change team
L/R - Change character to change its skin or team

During a game:
Cross - Jump
Square - Turbo, use item
Circle - Use powerup
Start - Pause
Select - Exit Game

Some notes

- The game only expects 1 human player, please assign only ONE human player
in the player select menu. Pressing "cross" on a character changes it to a
cpu controlled character.
- The game is fully modable; you can use the custom skins/maps/graphics/music
from the official site of the game. But to use them in the PSP version, you
need to resize each picture until it's 50% smaller. For example, a normal skin
is 192 x 32. Resize it to 96 x 16 first.

I can't get this game to work. Every time it loads up the PSP just freezes on a black screen.

Ok, so I am on 1.50, and I put the smw and smw% in the GAME folder. When I start it, the screen goes black and I have to hard-reboot the PSP to turn it off. This game looks cool, and I can't play it.

Works fine on my 2.6....when I first start playing it I thought to myself "This is the gayest thing I've ever played", but yet...I'm still playing it....and for some reason I just can't seem to put it down...

this is weird it doesn't work on 1.5 get every eboot coded like this :P then 2.00-2.60 would be better then 1.5
