VIDEO
Engine: PSP accel. + accur. soft.
Video mode: zoom 4/3
Smoothing: yes
Speed limit switch: yes
Speed limit fps: AUTO (detect PAL/NTSC)
Frameskip: AUTO
VSync: no
Render PAL as NTSC: yes
Gamma correction: 0
Screen calibration: *Feh, jus mess with it as you see fit*
Show FPS: no

SOUND
Sound mode: emulated, output
Output frequency: 44100Hz
APU Cycles ratio: 100.00%

MISC

PSP Clockspeed: 333Mhz

Not saying these are neccesarily the best, but they get me by more than well enough.

"Output frequency: 44100Hz"?

That doesn't make any sense to me...wouldn't having the sound on the highest quality possible slow down the framerate? I remember trying to increase the sound quality while playing Super Mario World and the framerate dropped...

For some games sure, like DKC and Super Mario RPG

however: for other games:

VIDEO
Engine: PSP accel. + accur. soft.
Video mode: Full Screen
Smoothing: yes
Speed limit switch: Depends
Speed limit fps: 30 (detect PAL/NTSC)
Frameskip: 1 (depending if 2)
VSync: no
Render PAL as NTSC: yes
Gamma correction: 2 (since you would want to lighten the screen up_
Screen calibration: Alter as u see fit
Show FPS: If you want to or not

SOUND
Sound mode: emulated, output
Output frequency: 44100Hz
APU Cycles ratio: 100.00%

MISC
PSP Clockspeed: This depends on some games, games like Super Mario World and Final Fantasy VI, 222 plays well.

it all depends on the game, generally i just change these settings:

engine: psp accel+accur or psp accel+approx
frameskip: try auto first, then try others if it's too choppy

and leave the other settings to default (except for star fox which i lowered the sound frequency)

check this thread - http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=14685. I double check there to ensure I have the best settings for the specific game I'm playing.

It's almost unique to the game. Things that will work fine on one game will crap out another.

I've found that just turning the sound off entirely produces the best results...

if you have that you are using savestates from before .42, save normally ingame and make new savestates after loading that.

I had the exact same thing with these snes emulators, everyone told me that Snes9xTYL was the better emulator. I tried all the settings I could change with TYl and it didn't work as well as uo_Snes9x.

I like the smoothing effect of TYL but UO is my prefered option still, simply because of the framerate.
