This is a discussion on Epsilon Bios in action (video) within the PSP Homebrew and Hacks Discussion forums, part of the PSP Development, Hacks, and Homebrew category; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9lUs3I5WDM Convinced ???...
Darn you beat me to it, I was just about to post this! Yes this video is incredibly convincing. I dont see any possible way this can be debated. The Epsilon BIOs are in fact a reality, and this should make those of you who have a UP on order very excited. In fact, this has made me even think about looking at getting a UP, and I have a 1.5 with Devhook! This just about proves it, the reality of custom firmwares has now hit the PSP. Great Job team Epsilon! Debating over. :icon_bigg
Hi I'm Brian Fellows and welcome to Brian Fellows Safari Planet!
Well, I am convinced, alot. To bad I need the modchip.....I have a version 1.5, why wouldn't it work on it?
i still think its fake.
That's with the modchip? Very cool.Originally Posted by hitman47

oh. my. god. I WANT IT NOW!!!!! man, i hope epsilon bios team hacks sonys encryption key and makes it into an update so that i can update my 1.5 to the custom 2.71

Given the fact that the system is booting an alternate bios bank perhaps the Actel FPGA can actually patch the IPL/bootstrap and allow you to boot a custom firmware. However I myself will have to experience it in person before I believe it. :P
Pretty good if it's fake.
They couldn't do much more to prove it.
Well, now I want a UP. That vid is pretty convincing.
it wouldve been more convincing if he entered the web browser
well, after seeing the System Software screen's MAC Address censor, I think this is fake since the creators seem very good at movie editing. Meaning they could just about pull anything off with that kind of movie editing power.
It can be a fake 1.There is no back ground 2.You cna here the button presses which means it could be a vid ran fo the psp 3.Look at the part where the cam pulls off after closing up must have pretty still hands or a stnad to make it so that the shadows reflect off the exact smae cordinates but overall the vis is pretty convincing since the quality is so clear.

I don't know. If you're saying how it seemed to be inside the PSP's screen, I know what you mean.Originally Posted by SG57
BUT, did you see when the home key was pressed, epsilon was the up-right corner? Could the fuzzy over the mac address just be another feature?
that could just be a 2.71 spoof coz you do know that we can now play loco roco or whatever its called on 1.5 now full game aswel and that could be using the generic patcher or something i think its fake
oh yeah i forgot about movie editing i think its definatly fake now why dint they show the hardware making it work??
Complete and utter BS. They'd have to replace the CPU to make it load a custom IPL; it's that simple.

But enable flash was under system settings, and no matter what homebrew you run, you're not going to get that under there, not even devhook, because it doesn't go to 2.7.Originally Posted by psp1003

Also, it's a really long video to just be faked.
Im thinking that those guys are very good vid editors (mac address) or that it is real.
It looks convincing, but freeplay is smart, and has a point, i think

Very, very simple.
* Get a 2.71 PSP. Run the LocoRoco demo on it.
* In the Exit Game menu, edit in an Epsilon logo using a video editor.
* Exit the game and go into the Game menu.
* Stop recording, put the same MS in a 1.50 PSP, go into the Game menu, record a bit until the wavy lines are synced up, then run the homebrew.
* Replace the Play Station Portable/white screen animation with that from a 2.00+ PSP, so you get the text under the 2.00 logo.
* Exit the homebrew and start an ISO on the 1.50 (through a method that runs independent of a noticeable loader... like some of the old-style ISO loaders)
In fact... I'm going to make my own video now.

But is it really worth doing all that crap just to prove your 'fake' product is real? I mean, if i made a fake bios replacement, i would just say **** it at this point
Well, QJ's front page is saying it is real.......
