I'm sure you all know that sweet Prince of Persia gameboot. I have it on my computer, and in the root of my memory stick, but I want to be able to flash it to the PSP. It looks soo cool.

with this they says that you will have the same acces to the flash like with a psp 1.5.
Lets see how this progres in few hours.

if you read the post it is a program that access's kernel mode through an overflow in an extra security check that sony put in firmwares 2.5 and 2.6.It then accesses kernel and dumps to the memory stick kernel-only accessable files along with a hex file inside of a bin image showing that you do have access to write to flash 0 and flash 1.The only thing that separates this from complete kernel access is the fact that you cant run a downgrader because the IPL is encrypted WITH the firmware version of your psp.So even if we were to reflash the psp,it would descover certain files arent there and you would have a brick.Zitat:

Well, well well.... something new and interesting for 2.5 and 2.6 users.
Perosnally I always had a 2.00, never upgraded or downgraded till devhook came out, which was a godsend for the homebrew world.
I will never upgrade past 1.5 unless given a huge reason to, this isn't it for me even if developed since this may make 2.7 open for devhook loading.
But for those who gave up to soon or just already had a 2.6, this is a miracle for you.
BTW the folowing scene shows what sony people are doing while seeing this breaking news, look away if you have a weak constitution.

true because protection sony wrote into the firmwares, flash acess is dependent on kernal so yes flash writing is open if this is developed properly, but no downgraders...
