apparently, they are trying to make it, so you patch once, it saves into flash, and thats that, no more worrying about patching, and you can run games the way 1.5 did.
Question, would this be able to run ISO loaders to load iso files? (not asking where to get, just if running an iso loader would be possible)
i think it is possible because iso only requires kernel, not flash
I am hoping they can get it to run the same as 1.50 and homebrew (ie, everything is available)
I'm guessing you haven't read this thread at all?? I'll repeat again.. no one knows for sure about anything so we can't really answer. Besides, it's off topic and has been flogged to death.Zitat:

Thats true, I'm assuming the no-kxploit will run the same way on 2.6 as it does on 1.5. If they could make on that only needed to run the patch once and when you cold boot the psp it remained patch. We would have already made that for 1.5.Zitat:

I was simply askign a question, all you had to say was: yes, no, dunno. Anyways, It was alreayd answered.
SOOOOOOO........ the question now is, can we do anything with this yet?????......or do we have to wait till fanjita releases a program implemented with kernal mode???? ...
we need to wait (unless youre a dev)
We have to wait till fanjita releases a program implemented with kernal mode.Zitat:

Az I thought it would be.........play the waiting game.......FUN....FUN.... FUN....!!!!
Wonder how long till Fanjita
releases a full version!
yeah i couldnt sleep last night thinking when fanjita is going to release a kernel e-loader
man, your hooked...lol
we are all hooked, otherwise we wouldn't be here. I love my psp's well the first not the second. i never use my 2.71 anymore........OT i know but i ain't flamin'
I can't blame him. Hell, we're all pretty anxious. I just wish people would stop hyping all of these things that may not be possible, then everyone is let down and pissed.
So am I, i know this guy from school, that acts as if he knows all, says he has fanjita on his msn list, etc. He makes fun of me because my psp came with 2.01 not 2.0, so i can't run iso's or anything. So this will give me the opportunite to say "Hah! I have a valid 2.6 firmware, with the same kernel acces stuff as yer 1.5, and more functions than your devhook.
Man, im pumped :p.
to clean the above post up:
My version:Zitat:
Till he does relaease a full version....I invite everyone to play a little game....turn your psp on .....Ms0:/PSP/GAME/2.6 exploit........wait ......wait...
Zitat:
Until Fanjita releases a full kernal patch, I invite everyone to play a little game. Turn on your psp, then do something, then somehow do this: MS0:/PSP/GAME/2.6 exploit. then you wait a bit.

I have a fealing, that regardless how long fanjita takes, there will be tonnes of developpers working on using this exploit, they will be all over it like a bear during mating season. So the first release MAY not be fanjita but say an upgraded downgrader.
Uhhh, if u used the Epsilon thing with this first would that help? and if failure happened u could just reflash it or does reflashing it require you to open the psp back up?
Grrr, I want an updated source!!! I want to tinker with it myself
Wow, this is really a big day for 2.50 and 2.60 users :D.
Thats a good oneZitat:

Actually i wouldnt call it big until its actually working, cuz if u think about it now, isnt that big because not many ppl know the first thing about how the damn thing works. To the ppl that understand it well yeah its more exciting, but for the ppl that dont understand it and think that the proof of concept is the actual thing, some of those ppl are just sitting here waiting for someone to release something that works, and when it does EVERYONE will be happy, not just a select few.
Yeah... Just had to throw that out there, Tee Hee
what? whats the cost?
I agree, there are alot of people wiht 2.01 - 2.6 using hombrew, and wishign for a downgrader, I am one of them, and will be very happy when that occurs.
If anyone we should start a donation for you Ralan, as you were the first person to greet me when i joined QJ, made me feel tingly inside. And you seem like a very helpful person to have around the place.Zitat:

If u started a charity, i would donate.
btw: thanks for helping the world of homebrew
Also (may be a little off topic) is that link2 web browser on 1.5 worth a downgrade, or does the Sony-Browser get the job done just as well?
any one having problems going on pspupdates.com i get an error
sony browser is better
you need to use the download page for the qj.net domain. pspupdates isn't, well, updated anymore but for some strange reason is still running to an extent.Zitat:

I've read through every one of these 88 pages and honestly it's been educational. Just have a couple questions (I'm new, what do you expect).
Is is true that buying GTA with the new v2.6 is ok? I've heard about the NONKXPLOIT; is this the same exploit that allows this new way of having kernel access work? I was in rage when I went to Fanjita's homepage to see that Hardrock released v2.6 GTA RIGHT after I bought the game that ended up being v2.6.
Does this means that buying the v 2.6GTA: LCS was no loss at all? Or, is the exploit completety patched in this GTA version? Am I SOL?
Either way, I'm joyous for this breakthrough in the homebrew community. Kudos to you DEVs, Fanjita, and all you mods keeping this fracking thread tidy from page 1.
you will need the unpatched gta for this exploit.
OK. Stupid question I have been wondering about a LONG time. Why do we need a GTA exploit to load other exploits for us? I know it works through the save game, but I don't understand enough about it. How "specifically" does it work?
The GTA exploit is an EBOOT loader hidden as a savegame. It runs through GTA to run any Eboot specifically made for 2.xx. You cannot run any EBOOTs from the XMB without it being signed. And we can't sign them. So we need the GTA exploit. But Fanjita is making a patch to stop this with the kernel exploit.Zitat:
Zitat von manaox2
As far as I understood, its a Bug in Loadexec, which is used for loading EBOOTs...
So - In GTA we use this Loadexec aswell to load up our EBOOTs...
In 2.5 / 2.6 Sony added another Security Check for EBOOTs... but instead of making it more secure, they opened a exploit for us instead of closing a existant bug in 2.01...
So, we still need GTA to load up a EBOOT so the Security Patch does his check and fails - resulting in a new exploit...
So, you can see it as a Exploit triggered by another Exploit... :D
That is why we need GTA for doing so
well i have a 1.5 so i couldn't give a tiny rats ass....Zitat:

I got 1.5 aswell... Its just interesting me because many of my buds have 2.6... and they would love to sniff some 1.5 "homebrew" air...

could someone tell me so how do I install this and with it right now can I play all 1.5 homebrew or do I need to wait ofr fanjita to release his new eloader with kernel access?
