Default Recent Homebrew.

I haven't had my PSP for over a couple months, so I missed alot of what came and went. So I'm asking the members on this forums to put posts to the following programs, so that I know what I missed, whats good, etc. I need:

A shell (anything good come out thats better than PSPOSX, also, since I have a 1.5, is it safe to put shells in sleep mode?)

Updates for emulators (SNES, GBC, NES, etc)

PMP Support (used it along time ago, what is the best version, and what do I use to transcode stuff. Also, is it possible to stream files to my PSP, and is it possible to stream other media files, and view em, like XviD or MP3s.

PSP Radio (how do I use this)

Anything else thats come that fully works and is neat. I've used homebrew for over a year, so I don't need any help installing.

Also, is there a web browser available, aside from Wipeout?

Something to play new games, like 2.5FW and stuff.

ISO Loader - The last thing I used was UMD Emu0.8 :P

Shell- iR Shell v1.6 . Amazing shell with way too many features to list here. For all the features, read the readme and scroll down to the changelog to see the features from the previous versions. And yes, you can go to sleep mode while using a shell (well at least you can with iR Shell).

Updates for Emulators-
Snes: There was a pretty good update recently with version 4.2. Since you're on 1.5, get the "ME" (Media Engine) version.
Nes: The latest one is NesterJ 1.20beta with Ad Hoc support and some other updates
No GBC updates.

PMP support-tons of new ones have come out. I think the latest are PMP Mod 2.01 subtitle mod and PMP Mod AVC 1.02 subtitle mod.

Streaming files-the newest iR Shell lets you stream any file that you can play on your PSP from your PC. This includes PMPs and MP4s and MP3s (and many others). Also, a program called PiMPStreamer works great for streaming other video files, especially avis, and also is even better than iR Shell at streaming MP3s.

PSP Radio-What do you mean how do you use it? It's just like normal homebrew, but it's WiFi, so you need to have a wireless router to connect to. Also, it's for internet radio, not AM or FM (although some AM/FM stations broadcast over the internet, too).

Web browser-Links2 is the best homebrew one, but there's also the firmware 2.5 browser which can be used by emulating the 2.5 firmware on DevHook.

Something to play new games, like 2.5 FW games-DevHook. Fully emulates 2.5 firmware, allowing you to play all games for 2.5 and below. Soon, it should be able to emulate all the way up to firmware 2.71 (the latest one) because the 2.6+ encryption is said to be able to be cracked now that they have kernel access.

ISO loader-don't use them.

I am not providing you with links or anything like that. For those you can search, like Urza said.

I more than understand that I asked the wrong thing about ISOs. I can find them myself, and I know I WILL get banned if I continue asking. What is the name of the current program for running ISOs of a higher FW.

Is there any way to view XviDs without converting? Also, whats a good program for universal remotes. I had another thing, but not only was it confuzing, but it worked on specific model numbers as opposed to say, PS2, or Panasonic TV.

Also, is there a good program for listening to music? I hate how I cant use either random or a playlist on a PSP, unless I do it manually when copying the files.

I already named a program that can play games of a higher firmware. I'm not going to say anything else, but I think you get it.

XviDs may be viewable on a program called PSPlayerMT (search for the download). Just try it. If you mean streaming them, try PiMPStreamer, but it may not work. Again, just try it.

For a universal remote, the best one is probably iR Shell. There's also one called Universal Remote, but it never worked for me, even though iR Shell does work for me.

I'm not sure about a music program. There may be one. I suggest you post on a new thread asking about that.

FOUND IT

It was called DJSP and the last version released was 0.14 ;p

It had sexy visualizations and had LUA script support.

Released almost a year ago //>_>\\ Still pretty spicy.

Download

Try it out and bask in its nostalgic glory ;p

So I just set up iR Shell, and it blew my mind away with its awesomeness. Where do I get the remote codes, and also, is it possible to mute the in game audio? Also, can you use PiMPstreamer with it, or would it already have the functionality?

Also, for programs which automatically use WiFi, how do I tell it which connection?

I think all the WiFi compatible apps have menus where you select the connection .-.

I knew you'd like iR Shell . It is amazing. You can download a huge package of remote codes at AhMan's (iR Shell's author) website: http://ahman.co.nr . Then you can copy all of them, or if you don't want to copy all of them, just copy the ones you'd like to use.

You can't mute in game audio unless it is a feature of that homebrew (DGen has a muting feature).

PiMPStreamer can be used if loaded from iR Shell.

For programs that AUTOMATICALLY chose your WiFi connection usually use the first connection. Sometimes this can be changed in a config file or in an options menu of that homebrew, but not always. For this reason my first connection is what I call an "auto" connection. Whenever I use a homebrew that automatically uses the first connection, I just set my "auto" connection to wherever I am.

Dammit, I really want to get VNC and PiMPStreamer going. Any method which I can watch Naruto from anywhere in the world is good as far as I'm concerned. I mean, look at it this way. I can use VNC to download a song, then copy it to my PSP, from anywhere in the world :P

Do 1.5s support I think 104 bit WEP keys?

Are you having problems with VNC and PiMPStreamer? Also, you can download a song with VNC, then stream it to your PSP if you don't have space to copy it from anywhere in the world.

Yes, 1.5 supports WEP encyrptions on networks.
