Update #3: As if there wasn't enough exciting PSP news today, now Dark_AleX has released a Downgrader Test For PSP 2.50/2.60 Firmware! This should NOT be used on TA-082 hardware! PSPXNAX has just tested this on a 2.60 PSP and confirmed it worked, and downgraded his PSP to 1.50 (with some unusual side effects being reported). However, according to the ReadMe please be aware that it is: To be used at your own risk.
