Why donate? Especially to TMK, you know he is only going to brick that PSP anyway. They knew the risk, why should everyone else pay for their stupidity?

They knew the risks, why couldn't they wait a little longer until someone with a mod chip tested it out? They could rescue their PSPs if something happened.
If I went to Vegas and blew $1000, I wouldn't expect everyone to donate to give me money back, even if I promised to give them some of my winnings.

Read his post, tmk knew that the downgrader would brick his psp, yet he did it.
So we're not being ungrateful because he only told us what we already knew, that the downgrader was a bricker.

Seriously folks, you need to compare the bricked-ones to this scenario:

"Hey gang, the new turbo I installed on my car blew my engine because I didn't have the skills to install it properly. Donate lots of money to me so I can buy a new engine block, pistons, rings, etc."

"Hey gang, the new turbo I installed on my car blew my engine because I didn't have the skills to install it properly. Donate lots of money to me so I can buy a new engine block, pistons, rings, etc. It was the new turbo for $99 that everyone has been asking about so I decided to bite the bullet and test it for everyone."

In the racing world - just like in the PSP homebrew hobbyist world - you gotta pay to play.
Otherwise pack up your toys and go home because you can't afford this hobby.

Besides, I think TMK is going to be more busy playing with his newly-reflashed DS Lite and mini-SD flashcart than any PSP right now...
