if you have a linksys router, type in the address bar, 192.168.1.1

Some routers have 192.168.0.1 instead

Check your routers manual, it will give you an IP adress to put in your IE address bar, put in the name and password you chose when you first configured your router and then you can see all of your routers settings.

I have a linksys, and what i use to type in my IE bar is what ip i get from http://www.ipchicken.com/.

if that doesnt work, go to my network places ->view network connections -> click Local Area Connection -> then the support tab -> and look at the ip address it has, type that into your IE bar.

I think this should work,
click start, go to run, type cmd, and then in command prompt type ipconfig, then type the address in windows explorer, or your internet browser.

alright, im stuck there too. i got to the IP address, typed it into my internet browser, and it came up with a log-in.. i was wondering what it was. a while back i had to access it.. because i was having internet troubles, now i dont remember how to get to it. its a Linksys router so the IP would be 192.168.1.1 but then i dont know what the username or password.. any help?

As default most routers give you the username: admin and password: password

Try that, if it doesn't work you'll have to figure out what you changed it to

Login to the Router's Config page,

SMC (192.168.2.1)
Linksys (192.168.1.1)
USR (192.168.1.123)

And in the status section you should see the Primary and the Secondary DNS
