Downdater UPDATE July 2: DOWNDATER_FINAL_AUTO released!!

has anyone heard of any news about a successful downgrade on a TA-082 psp? I sure do hope either TA-082 people can downgrade or the kernal eloader is released.

sAme thing happened again. started, no flashes, turned off, still 2.5

Tested on a JAPANESE Ceramic White with factory 2.6 firmware.

It had the text IC9001 on the left side of the PCB under a metallic thingy,
it had no Gold text on the right side, nothing that resembles the dreaded
IC1003, so it is not TA-082 ;-)

Used the dumps on psp-hacks... AC Adapter connected with 100% battery.
Loaded GTA UMD, loaded emenu, fired up Downgrader thingy. Left the PSP
on the table, went to the kitchen to grab a beer... gulp gulp... Checked on
the PSP, blue screen, pressed O, rebooted, removed battery, rebooted...
well you know what happens next ;-) another success story!!!

I just can't believe I waited for 6 months (Since December) for something
that could be acheived in 3 minutes. Truly amazing...

hey does anyone know if it matters if you have low battery?

If your PSP runs out of juice while downgrading then it's destroyed (i.e. bricked). Having your battery at 100% is ideal.

I mean that for him only since he is using a dump that already has the ms0:PSP/Game files in it. So all he needs to do is drag the PSP and DOWNDATER folders from his archive into the root of his MS.

actually, the first time around when I left it just inside the PSP folder...the eloader did not pick up on it and after I dragged it into the GAME folder...I can see it now.

can any1 confirm how many factory built 2.5 psp this has worked on ?

btw if you place something in the wrong spot, the downgrader should stop and not mess up your firmware or psp.

are you sure you didn't downgrade? that would explain why gta wouldnt work since it needs 2.0.

First one is: Downdater_Log_Initentries 2
second one is: I_097
Third one is: Odd (file)

I just took the plunge, and now have a great 1.50 psp 1007 version downgraded from 2.5
So this does work on the 1007 model :) :) :)

The way the exploit happens THERE WILL NOT BE A KERNEL ELOADER.what the exploit is is an overflow error in the library for loading eboots,so the exploit ill only happen when loading an eboot,not savedata like eloader,not images like the 2.0 exploit,but eboots.It is in an overflow in an extra security check that sony put in 2.5/6 firmware that contains this overflow.o far Fanjita is working on a way to USE the exploit.there is nothing being programmed as of yet.He hopefully will be creating a patch that removes all of the security checks in 2.5/6,so that your psp will act as if it is a 1.0 eboot and homebrew loading wise.it will still have the features of 2.5/6 but without the security checks that find the homebrew data to be corupted.i repeat,the way the exploit works,THERE WILL NOT BE A KERNEL ELOADER.

Did you test that before you released it? I realize its just all the files you need that extract to the stick, but are you SURE that you dident miss anything?

I swear, no bad files, and super easy to use, it self extracts all files to the psp (as long as you point it to extract there)

Hey thanks for the info. Sorry Im still a bit new on the kernel stuff, and jelous of all the new 1.5 users out there (i own a TA-082). Ohh well I guess the GTA exploit will have to suffice. :Cry:
