edit: Kind of in a hurry for the answer lol.
i need some help with the 1.5 dump so if any1 wants 2 tlk aim me at Romero1011
Ownage.
Worked like a charm. Now I have successfully downgraded from 2.6 to 1.50.
Thanks a lot to everybody who was involved in the success of this downgrade.
Hey dudes, here's my account on running the 0.5beta downgrader:
What a nerve wrecking experience to begin with...
I'm now running the downgrading process for my
PSP-1000 JP firmware 2.5 (factory, never upgraded), upon checking motherboard version, it says something like IC9001 (unconfirmed due to partially hidden)
My heart is pounding while the memory stick access light flashes wildly for about 2-3 minutes
Wait... the psp just restarted, shows up a blue screen, I hit the O button and entered some default settings, and the PSP restarted again.
PSP says disc cannot be read. Eject the GTA UMD from drive and normal operation resumed.
Took out the battery and waiting for 5 minutes before putting it back.
Restarted the PSP, says the UMD game cannot be started, needs to run firmware update.
Yay! I am now a proud owner of a 2.5->1.5 PSP!! :) Thanks Fanjita! Thanks Hitchhikr! Thanks Dark_AleX! Thanks Deturb! And Thanks everyone who tested and 'bricked' their PSP and to eveyone who made this possible!
I am a happy man today! Woo!! Now what homebrew should I load next :)
Congrats!, i did the same thing
Thanks Xero99!
Oh yeah, just for some extra 'safety' measures,
I reformatted my 1GB MS and installed a fresh copy of eLoader 0.97 alternative.
I know this is a lot of hassle to many people, but I just want to be safe as I don't have spare cash to buy another psp.
BTW, my PSP is a ceremic white version. Hehe!
You don't need the eLoader on 1.5, you just run your homebrew from the Game > Memory Stick
Would someone like to help me about the 1.5 files since my friends don't have 1.5 firmware. My AIM is Alumnite, someone PM me since I need the files please.
Thank you.
Sorry if i did not make myself clear. What I meant was I reformatted my 1GB MS and installed a fresh copy of eLoader 0.97 alternative before running the downgrader 0.5 beta. :)
Just for those of you asking about the log files, I can assure you can simply remove the 100 odd text files from your memory stick, it won't cause your system to 'brick'.
i just downgraded... awsome!
check out the second post in this thread... ;)Zitat:

What do you think causes this the System Info to show 2.01 after downgrade on
some PSPs? Could it be that the DUMP they used from 1.5 was modfied? Just curious.

im going to do it... IM GOING TO DOWNGRADE!!!
Well after reading through hundreds of posts on various sites and with Dark Alex's comments on the final version I decided to give this a go using Deturb's pack.
Worked a treat! Got to admit though it was a bit scary, good thing I'm wearing my brown pants today, oh wait no they were white earlier ;)
Downgraded, did the battery thing then took the 2GB card out of my white 1.5 popped it into my newly downgraded black 1.5 and everything seems to be working fine. I have tried Dax, DevHook, IR Shell and Links 2 Web Browser - so far - all work perfect!
Thanks to everyone involved, the PSP scene has completed changed overnight, hopefully Sony will take note.

P.S If you've got a question about the downgrader you can be sure its already been asked and answered in this thread, just search for it.
Please note: First post :Punk:
Here is the last version of the downdater for 2.50/2.60.
Changes:
- Added a checking for the AC adaptor. Now it's necessary in order to begin the downgrade.
- Removed the logs, they could cause problems with people with 32 MB memsticks.
Also i want to explain a couple of things:
- The "Disc cannot be read" problem. This is caused because the hardware restart that the downdater does, doesn't restart the umd device. There were a more proper way to reinit the psp, but it wasn't working in this exploit. Not a big problem really, since after you restart manually the psp, the problem is gone.
- DO NOT USE dumps of other firmwares. As important as the files, is the IPL (Initial Program Loader), which is written by a library of the Sony 1.50 updater, that is hardcoded to write the 1.50 IPL.
Download: at my site which i don't know if it is legal to post it here :)
Hey Dark_AleX, eternal thanks to you for making the downgrader. Saves me a couple of hundred bucks in exchange for a 1.5. :)
And one pointer if you are using the 0.5 beta version, make sure your battery is fully charged (read 100%) before running the update and that you have enough disk space for the log files, else you could possibly end up with a 'brick'.
once again, great work
good work, im gonna make a self extractor asap...Zitat:

here i go! wish me luck!!
Damn you all!! I bought a 1.5 on the day this news came out, for 50 quid more than i sold my 2.5 for!!!! I'd been waiting 6 months for this hack!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH HH:Argh: :Argh:
I can't figure out its a IC9001 or IC6001 cuz the text is partially hidden. But as long as its not IC1003 you are green to go.Zitat:

Just one last check, make sure you have enough disk space and a "fresh install" of eLoader 0.97 before hitting the "X" or "O" button.
All the best!
for anyone who can't use search to find the Downdater Final I make it easyer for you http://psp-homebrew.eu/hbname.php?id=1002
i just need those 1.5 files...
then i'll go, mine should work, its a 2.60 upgraded from 1.52
i have a 2gb memorystick pro duo :P
